Did you receive notification the applicant's application is being held in mississauga for processing, or are you assuming mississauga is your visa office because that is where you sent your package?

ALL outland applications start at mississauga. This is where the sponsor's application processes. Once approved, the applicant's application will be transferred to another visa office abroad, specific to where the applicant is from. so technically, outland principal applicant applications don't process in Mississauga, unless they hold it there to help overflow from other visa offices.

If you haven't received Sponsor approval yet, then the visa office will more than likely change. This information will be provided on the sponsor approval letter CIC sends you. If you let us know where the applicant is from, we can tell you where the file will most likely be processed.

if your sponsor approval letter said that your file was being sent to Mississauga for further processing, it's most likely a typo. i recall another February applicant getting the same letter, but it turns out their file went to Warsaw instead. try calling them up if you're interested in finding out where your file is actually headed.

My SA email says, "...has been forwarded to the visa office in CPC Mississauga for further processing..."

Well, if such thing ended up being an error, then it is more likely will be transferred to Vienna or Ottawa since she is in Germany as PR.

I will wait for the letter to arrive sometimes next week (nothing today). Shall see.

this is not necessarily true. CIC has been known to process some outland applications in Mississauga to assist with overflow issues at other visa offices. applicants whose applications stay in mississauga for outland generally see a speedy process. considering a lot of people are getting speedy processes right now, this seems to be consistant with past reports of this...

it's also good to double check the langugage on the line about what type of application it is. does it say IN canada? or something more like sponsoring a member of family class? if it says IN canada, then that can be an issue and it could mean they have marked it as inland by mistake. don't freak out (i'm not trying to scare you). i doubt this is the case, it's just good to double check. the good news is, inland applications don't get acknolwedged as quickly as outland, so again, i doubt this is what happened.

well, we are sharing what we/you know thus i listen and appreciate. The language is as clear as I posted - ...forwarded to the vis office in CPC Mississauga for further processing (no 'Canada' mentioned) - doesn't look like they are referring as it is INLAND APPLICATION. Yes, you are right, I see some people having vo Mississauga, but not sure if all are USA application, however, I doubt if my case is straight forward since we are married in December '15 and have no children. Let us wait and see what the letter would say - will get it by next week.

I called - "CPC Mississauga" was error, referred to Vienna.
