MISSING TRANSLATION but hoping to send it as an addendum

Hello All!

We recently submitted our Outland Spousal application (received Dec 2, 2020) and I realized that we missed to include a translation of my husband's Spanish birth certificate. From reading forums, there is a high likelihood that it will be returned as incomplete if we did not do anything about it.

I was wondering though, has anybody had any experience in sending missing documents as an addendum to their application? Were you successful or were they all sent back anyway? Currently it seems like AOR1 doesn't get sent out until 3-4 months after receipt of application so we might still have a chance to send our documents before they even check our application.

Thanks for your input!

1. It is most likely coming back. When the application is opened it is checked for completeness, if it isn't complete it is usually returned.
2. Without an AOR file no. how would CIC be able to marry up a document sent via webform without a file no?

It is most likely coming back but you can still attempt to send by webmail, provide as much identifying information as possible, and cross your fingers. It is possible they may link it to your application. Nothing to lose in trying.

Armoured you seem to have a lot of knowledge. I have a few questions. First do you have any idea the average processing time for China apps. Second do Chinese applicants always get sent to HK? Thanks.

Don't know about china/hk. Nor really processing times for China apps either, you should look at the tracker spreadsheets for this year and last.

You've been married and I presume living together for several years, so should be quick analysis of your relationship (assuming documentation correct).

They will also look at the info you provided about your intent to return to Canada. No idea how much in detail.

I presume security check in China is more involved than, say, UK or USA. But that may be no more than look at background and profile - or more involved if your spouse is a PLA general (joke).

Apart from that much seems to depend on how fast local office is.

You may want to order gcms notes.

Also, if they do indeed send the application back, do you know if we just put the missing document in and resend it or do we have to request new documents (i.e. FBI background check, etc)? Do they send it to the applicant or the sponsor? Thanks again!
