Hi Guys,

I searched through this forum but surprisingly I was not able to find the answer.

Today I was looking at the letter that I got from Nova Scotia asking me to submit the documents. In that letter they say that the file number is on the top right. There is a place saying "File #" but that field is blank in the letter. But, there is a bar code sticker that is pasted on the last page. Is the number written above the bar code the file number or am I really missing the file number here?

The bar code reads something like B XXXX XXXX X. Is this the format of the file number?

Please help. Btw, I couriered my documents today to the New Delhi Office. What happens now?

Thanks.

The file number means that the application has been considered. But, the online status will appear only when the local CHC starts the processing. Currently, ECAS doesn't show me any status about my application. I think once they receive my documents and start the processing then I will be able to see the status. Seniors please let me know if this the case?

i have got an email from Canadian Embassy in Paris saying that they received my application and they gave me the file number but when i checked my application status on line , i found that they sent me a letter on April 30 which i have not got yet, my question is that, does the file number mean my application has been considered or i have to wait till i get the letter from them, even though my application should be reviewed in Pris but i found this Centralized Intake Office Sydney (CIO-S) Eligibility Review Complete, so what do u think ,

You might need to use either your first name or last name in Name field to get the status in CIC Website.. This has happened to me. Sydney AOR was earlier working when I was giving name as first + last but later it was only working for firstname. You can try that and see.

It is not working with first name. I don't have my last name on the application. So, I tried with N/A but it still won't work. Leaving the Family name space blank doesn't let me get through the form.
