Missed the deadline for submission of passport for TRV

Hi ,
I was an international student in Canada and I applied for my work permit.
I got my work permit till July 2019.
I applied for my Temporary resident visa and I got a request to send the passport but my bad luck that I missed their message for passport request.
They sent me the passport request on Aug 26 and it was mentioned on the letter that failure to sending a passport within one month will lead to the refusal of the application.
Now it is Oct 11 and definitely more than a month ,
I don't know what to do now ,
Whether I should send the passport or not .
What happens if I send the passport and they refuse my application .
I don't know what should I do about it ,
I even tried calling CIC but could nt connect a call.
Please advice as I am really tensed about what to do about it

They will have already closed the application. You need to reapply.

But the status of previous application is still open and that is why i am confused.
So do u suggest to create a new application and apply again? Even if the previous one is not closed.
Also , please tell me that if I am applying again , do I need to mention about the previous application anywhere

You can try sending your passport. If they return it without a TRV, you can reapply.
