I applied to Guelph (Beng mech) for the 2015 winter session, due to an emergency I could not get there on time and when I called them they told me its too late and I could enter in Fall 2015. But my only concern is that whether they will cancel my study permit if I do not enter the course or I could enter fall with the permit I already have. Also is it possible for me to go there and stay there till my intake begins?

only TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) is issued when the visa is approved and it is valid for one or more year (It depends on your passport expiry and length of your course). You can enter Canada as long as you have valid TRV.
Study permit will be issued when you will enter Canada (at Airport). You can show them your updated Letter of Acceptance (The one with May or Sept 2015 entry point). If they ask for reason on deferral you can easily explain.

As far as I know, for September if you will go now it will be too early.
It is recommended for you to go 4- 6 weeks before your classes begin.
The immigration officer might question your intention if you are travelling now.

i m in similar situation and i dont know what to do nobody has a clear answer some say go now some say go before 2 month of programs start
