Missed Fingerprint Deadline: Next Steps

Hi, I am applying for citizenship, and got the request for fingerprints:
"You are receiving this letter because your fingerprints are required to continue processing your
application for Canadian citizenship."
I missed the 30 day deadline from the final notice (young kids, sigh).
I can see on the email that my application will be regarded as abandoned.

What are my next steps:

• email/call them and ask nicely for extension?
• Do the fingerprints and send them in anyway
• Restart my application?
• Something else?

You don't say how long it's been since the 30 day deadline. If it's pretty recent, call them and explain why you missed it. They might give you some more days.
