I have undergone medical examinations in the Philippines for immigration to Canada. The doctor said my blood pressure was 150/80. I think that was because I didn't sleep well the night before and I had a throbbing headache that day!! I was asked by the doctor if I have been diagnosed with hypertension before. I honestly said "NO". He also asked if I had chest pains, dizziness, etc., and I honestly answered NO to all the questions. I told him my blood pressure 3 months earlier was 130/80 only. The doc told me to have a s. creatinine blood test and an ECG.

The problem is, when it was my 16 year old son's turn to be examined, the doctor asked him if I (his father) has high blood pressure. And he said Yes!! >:( >:(He said "yes" because he recalls that every time I scold him, I tell him, "I'm gonna have high blood pressure because of you!" Of course, that's a figure of speech.

I even have documented proof that I was not aware of my condition because 3 months prior to that, I had my company's annual medical check up and my blood pressure was only 130/80, and my ECG was NORMAL.

Will we be denied canadian visas just because my teenage son ignorantly told the doctor that I have high blood pressure when in fact I have no knowledge about it until the medical exam date??

Me and my wife are deathly worried because of that because migrating to Canada has been our lifelong dream. :(

I highly appreciate your opinions.

Hi,

It's going to be okay for as long as you follow what has been told to you by the doctor. My husband went through same stage as yours, he was diagnosed HPB 150/90 then was advised to do an ecg. It is a long process but we have to follow so they will have the basis as to where the HPB came from. You'll be right.
