Mismatch: Qualifications and Relevant Experience- NOC 2171

Hi All,

This is my first post in this forum so apologies in case of any mistakes.

My qualifications: B.Tech: Chemical Engg, MBA Operations - Both India

Experience: 2 Years post Engg as Chemical Engineer; 4 years and counting post MBA as Business Analyst (Product Manager on my offer letter) i.e. NOC 2171. I intend to apply in NOC 2171 code considering that's my most recent experience.

I ran an eligibility checklist on CIC website with above details and assumed IELTS score and I got result as : Not Eligible.

I checked with a couple of local consultants and both had contrasting answers; one said qualifications don't matter and other said you should have Computer Science or Engg to be able to apply as in NOC 2171.

Looking forward to inputs from experts on the forum or anyone who has experience similar use case.

I graduated in Electronics and Comm Engineering and MBA (in Finance). I've applied under 2171. The first set of GCMS notes shows that the agent who reviewed my work exp docs hasn't raised any red flags. So, my suggestion would be, apply anyways. As long as your work exp description meets the description in NOC 2171, you're safe.

P.S. - I'll give you a concrete answer after I get my next set of GCMS notes.
