Hello all....My son and his wife in the States wish to come to Canada to visit me this summer, but are concerned about the very stringent Canadian admissability laws. My daughter-in-law was convicted of 2 misdemeanor petit theft, both totalling under $150. This was about 6 years ago. She served her sentence out, and has since married my son, bought a house, has been gainfully employed fulltime, and has had no further troubles. They have traveled to Italy and to Hong Kong with no problems whatsoever.
I have contacted Canadian Border Patrol Services and also the Canadian Immigration and have read all the many links they have directed me to. I am not a lawyer, and really just want an answer: is her misdemeanor a grounds for inadmissability or not?
Thank you for any help or advice....
