Misalignment: Pre-ITA and post-ITA

Hi everyone,

I need some help. I know it has been answered by experts here but i just couldn't find the answers anymore.

Before my ITA, I didn't know the "job offer" in the question "Does XXX have a job offer" refers to offer of arranged employer. I answered "yes" in my pre-ITA form. However, since i have a PGWP and demonstrated my job does not require LMIA, I didn't claim any points (50 or 200) for my EE profile.

I got invited on Jan 4, 2017 and changed the answer to "no" on the post-ITA form.

Do you think it can be an issue and will get declined since my job offer information got changed? Should I decline my ITA and wait for another one? My EE point sits at 476 and my PGWP will get expired in July 2017. Another option is to add my situation to the Letter of Explanation. Do you think this could be a good idea instead of declining ITA?

Your help will be appreciated.

Thank you!

As it clearly demonstrates on cic website that "We will refuse your application if the information in your profile is different from what you submitted in your application", this makes me feel nervous. :(

True! It is your responsibility to understand what does CIC means. If u can't, u always have an option of hiring a consultant. As such, I am not sure but u can include LOE explaining that u misunderstood. May be seniors can shed some more light on this one

In general, changes post-ITA are acceptable as long as you still meet:

- the minimum eligibility criteria of the program to which you were invited to apply (FSW, CEC, FST, etc.)
- still have enough points to clear the cut-off score of the draw you were invited in
- still aren't inadmissable to Canada (due to security concerns, medical issues or otherwise)

If you are certain that you didn't receive any points for your job offer, then you should still meet all the criteria above.

However, I do recommend you explain the situation in an LoE and outline that you misunderstood the question.
Thank you for your kind reply. I really appreciate it.

I have a Canadian bachelor degree, two years of work experiences in Canada, and IELTS test result: L 8.5; R 8; W 6.5; S 7.5

I believe my EE profile score 476 doesn't include the extra 50. I will follow your suggestion and include an explanation in my application.

Thank you for your reply. Another senior member just suggested me to write a letter of explanation to the officers to explain my situation.

Since I still meet the criteria that CIC asks for, hope I will be okay, :)

Changing some answer post - ITA is fine but you need to keep in mind two things

1. Your change should not lower your CRS score.

2. Provide explanation of why you made the changes and be honest with your explanation. If you made a mistake just admit that and say you corrected that in e-APR.

Hello,

I just realized, some of the dates in my work experience were not correct before getting my ITA (it was by mistake and did not look into the profile until I got the ITA, I know that was really really stupid but now I'm scared). But after getting the ITA, I have fixed the error. I still have 18 months of full time experience to qualify. Do you think there might be a problem with respect to that while processing the application ? The fix will be backed up by the reference letters and T4s and pay stubs from some of the companies I worked for.

Please help !

Regards,
