Hello All,
Can someone kind assist me in answering my question: The minor has a student permit. The mother also has a student permit while the father has a work permit. Does the minor need to pay for tuition as International studentÉ. The interested family is concerned about the fees.
Thank you!
Did you actually read the link?

Hello,
We recently got work permit Visa and my minor kids got student visa.
I wanted to check if the kids can go to public schools like any other visa holders kids (NO Fees).
Or they have to pay the fees in Public schools?
Any idea where should i verify this.

Ahmed

Yes if your family gets a visa to come with you to Canada if you get a student visa they will be able to study for free.

Hello, I have a question.
I am having a study permit, started this course this January until January 2021.
I intend to bring my child a few months later, possibly during my summer break.
I would also like to enroll her in a school in Grade 5, so that she could study here.
In this scenario, does she need a Study Permit?
The following links are completely contradicting each other and I am confused, please help

No need for a study permit if you are studying.

Yes if you are working your children can attend public school. It isn’t “free” since you also will pay taxes on your salary.

Thanks Ahmed, when you say public schools, does this imply they are always free? Do i need to pay tuition fees in Public school in British Columbia while i will be working under work permit? Thank you

Public schools are not free for international students but if you are working in Canada and your children have valid visas you will not have to pay tuition.

Hi there!
I'm helping my friend who is coming to Canada with her family. Her case is like yours I believe: She obtained her student permit approval as well as for her 2 kids in elementary and kindergarten and the husband obtained a work permit. Do the minors need to pay for tuition like any other international student on a study permit? Since your post is dated December 2017, I'm hoping that you have the answer for me. Any help from you or other users will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi @FYY,

We are in same boat as your friend. We are applying for Study permit for my wife, open work permit for myself and visitor visa for my minor daughters. Please share your friend's experience with this procesd.

I understand it's does not require to pay fees in public schools for minor children if one of their parents are on students permit. Did I get it right?

Thanks for all your expert opinion Canuck.

Yes the school will need you to show that you are studying in Canada (Other than English language courses) to register your children. There will be no tuition but there are still some expenses when attending Canadian public schools.

Canuck you are awesome. God bless you for all the efforts you make to share your wisdom and guiding others. I highly appreciate your kindness.

Just a silly question of you don't mind. What sorts of expenses you actually means by there are still some expenses?
I can guess these are books and some menetamce fees which are not significant. Am I right?

Tablet, uniform, field trips, supplies, etc. Yes they are minimal compared to the cost of tuition if you had to pay it. Think you are getting ahead of yourself. You haven’t even received a study permit yet and your application is clearly not one of a genuine student.
