Minor subsection 5(1)

Hi,

We sent in an application for a minor under subsection 5(1) ie an application for a minor applying alone. I was wondering if any of you had done that and if so can you shed some light on the process you went through and the processing time for the applications please.

I sent on Sep 17, 2018. Got AOR in early December. But nothing more. Looking at September blog, if I don't get In-process in one week, it would be a delay

Sent the application about the same time, we got the AOR dec 6th, but the status never changed to in process...

The only thing I can imagine is that there are very few subsection 5(1) applicants, and it would definitely be a different process. As there are no security checks for example. Who knows it might be a decision made directly...overly optimistic.
