Hi thavasi,

I would like to know are you applying under this Fast Track (FSW) category.

As you mentioned that u r S/W Engineer and according to Fast Track it should be of Managerial Category.

I am also applying and mt profile is Sr. Test Engineer.

Looking to hear from u.

Meena

well it is easy to score 6.5 in all sections except listening.

To obtain 7.5 in listening u should get 34/40. It is hard...but not impossible :) Do a lot of practice before IELTS test

Best of Luck...!

Is this the second stage. I mean while sending the Applications its not required.

Meena

No its not required at first stage

Ok so they will ask us to appear for this test.

Can we request them to waive of this Test by writing them the letter or this ia mandatory.

Your brother was lucky then. Try it, you may also succeed.

Hi there,

I think one should take IELTS test before sending the application so that one can know the exact points and moreover later on you may not find date for IELTS test within the time limit of 120 days.

Good Luck.

Exactly. Specially if you are on the border for points i.e. exactly 67 or a bit more then why give the Visa officer the chance to give you lower marks for language.

Hi Meena,

Yours and your brother's cases are different. I think it is exempted for those whose mother tongue is English or who have studied in English medium. Your brother is living in the USA and he might have studies in English language throughout his career right from Class I. But as for your case, you are living in India (perhaps). So, you have to take IELTS before applying for FSW. This is my opinion. Please wait for seniors to reply.

Good Luck.

I know of people having Masters and PhDs degrees from UK/USA and CIC asked them to take IELTS. Their letters didnt help them.

Hi Meena,

yes, I think I am eligible to apply under FSW category. Right now I am a Sr. Software engineer and have more than five years of experience.

I am eligible to apply under FSW category?

Thanks,
Thavasi
