I applied for my parents visitor visa in June 2023 (father retired military background retired in 2002), , IRCC asked for ADR of military service details in Aug 2023 (submitted within a week), and there is no response / update since then, can anyone guide what steps i can take to expedite or check application status? its just a visit visa and they are taking way too much time.
Same Case
Applied: 4 June 2024
ADR: 11 Sep 2024 (Submitted 12 Sep 2024)
No update & response since then ....
Wrt your expedite: There is no possibility/ procedure to get a speedy response / outcome.
What steps to take:
1) Keep raising webforms after regular intervals, i normally raise after 1.5 to 2 months (but seldom get response)
2) Find who is your MP... Write an email asking about application exceeded normal processing time....
3) Have patience ...
4) Keep praying ...
Check application status: From IRCC Tracker you can check status....

thanks for the response. I did raised webform last week and got response within 2 days, they mentioned that currently we don't need any document and application is in processing, some complex application takes more time than usual and if you submitted application before July 2021, only then withdraw and re-submit the application again, otherwise wait for now.
Does checking from MP with IRCC really helps? since our case seems to be taking more time due to military background check, i wonder if MP can extract more information on the case or delay?
Moreover, the IRCC tracker, it doesn't show anything, it just mentions the start date i.e. June 2023.I applied through https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en , is this the new portal or old?

I applied from Pakistan / VO Abu Dhabi
how to find MP?
https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en
Find Members of Parliament - Members of Parliament - House of Commons of Canada (ourcommons.ca)
You have to enter
FIND MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT
Search current and past members by name, constituency or postal code

Once you find the name of MP, click on it, and in Contact you will find email. Just email with details of application, as UCI No, Application No, date, name etc, and write how delay is affecting you etc etc, they might ask you consent for sharing information with MP office. If they do, fill details and submit via email back to MP office. Most of the time you will receive auto reply that due to lot of applications, you will be contacted within ????20 or 30 days. etc etc

Yes, submitted within timeline. They were reviewing it for last few months. My father is an ex army men. I called them up and they said at times files move offices and new office did not have that document and so they Usually ask for it again.
explanation letter was to explain various things which my father did not recollect clearly and so we told this is what we remember As this was from 10-20 years back.
U got visa . Please share timeline

seems like the processing times of visit visa application for military retired person are between 1-2 year. I haven't received any update yet and its been more than a year now.

Hi
I filled my father supervisa on june 2023, submitted all the required docs again and again, with webforms and mp requests. It stuck on military security screening checks.
I am planning to get engaged/married in Canada. Do you think I should withdrawal the application and submit a new one with visitor visa( not supervisa). With engagement booking confirmation.

no, since military background check is also done for visitor visa, just wait, since the processing times for military background is screening is high, around 1-2 years nowadays.
