Hi Friends,

I hope you will help me on this. I recently sought the services of a immigration agent in Canada. The firm appears to have great google reviews. I later signed the contract. After providing the necessary documents I received communication that my profile was created and submitted. However, I asked the firm for a copy of what was submitted but received a reply saying they normally do not provide the client a copy of what has been submitted, for the reason of confidentiality of disclosing other client information. I find this hard to believe. Please advise me on what I could do. I am counting on a few replies here.
Thanks in advance.

Based on my experience, an immigration firm/lawyer usually do not grant you access for your express entry profile (through the CIC website, as in the GC key and stuff) as they have a unified account for all of their clients. But your question is a bit confusing as in "Copy of what was submitted" should be already known to you as YOU might have given them those documents and they will ask you to submit the required documents asked by CIC . And if the firm is genuine, they will usually update you with any required information as requested by CIC for your application.
You can ask them to email you all the documents that have been submitted till now (based on your current status of application). If they deny sending you a copy of all the documents (which you gave them) and the ones they receive from CIC (ex: AOR/ITA/PPR) then that might be a red flag as to even if they submitted your profile or not as they are supposed to inform you with each and every update from CIC pertaining to your application (as soon as they receive it, if not the next business day).
Hope this helps!

P.S: when your profile is being created (filling required forms before entering the pool)for submission, it contains all the contact info. Usually, since they are your representatives, they will put in their email address and contact details, so all of the correspondence is relayed to them first hand and then they should forward you accordingly.
All the best :)

Thanks Arc,

You have answered my query. What I had expected was something like a confirmation from the CIC that they have received my application or some sort of proof that my profile was created and the agent sending me a draft of what was filled out in the application just to verify if everything was correct before submitting. I am aware of the documents which I sent them. So I guess the better way would be to ask if they could send me the receipt of my application from the CIC I guess?
Thanks.

Yes the document confirming the receipt of your documents/Application is the AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt), this will be sent by CIC on the email given on the file (it contains your express entry profile number (Application #), your name and email for correspondence. Your immigration firm should send this to you as soon as they receive it from CIC.
As for the verification of content filled in the documents, that should be cross checked with you (if there is any issue), if not, you should atleast be updated saying everything was correct and no further corrections were needed (before submitting your profile, but then that depends on the ethics and professionalism of the lawyer).
Overall, I guess the document you should be looking for now is AOR. If they din't send you that over a considerable period of time (after claiming to have submitted your profile) then that is not a good sign (as it is sent on the email within 24 hours of receipt of documents) and you should look to contact your immigration firm/lawyer immediately through phone (or visit them if possible).

Hope everything goes well with your application!

Although you don't get access to your express entry profile but if you get invitation to apply then, it seems fine.

Lol, there is no obligation as such to use the host of this forum:) meghashyam75 might have filed it before coming to this forum :p
But yes, definitely, agree with engrted, that if this firm is fraudulent, then it should be posted accordingly, so other's can watch out
(Maybe just start a new topic, with the firm name for better visibility, in the express entry section of the forum) :)
Although, I hope you don't end up in that place!!
