Hi Everyone,
I’m Philippine National currently doing MBA degree in US and at the same time working temporary as a contract employee under school authorization with among the top software company here in Washington State. I have 5 years total working experience, 3 years from Philippines and 2 years here in USA. I’ve stayed here for almost 3 years from now and will be graduating soon of my MBA degree June of 2010. I will be able to stay here legally in US until June of 2012 with no way of extension under F-1 student VISA.
Here are my questions:
1.What is my best option to migrate in Canada much faster?
2.If I will decide to apply for skilled worker visa category where do I send my application? Can I send directly to Canadian embassy here in US?
3.For Skilled worker category how long does it takes for me to wait considering my total remaining stay is 2.5 years?
4.Any advice that you can give will be much welcome. Many thanks.

Hi! Vierx2007

Go to this website..www.cic.gc.ca and you start from there. You many options but right under federal skilled worker, there are only 38 occupation lists that they are accepting and check if you will qualify. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Alpha Remeo. Does the process will take longer than 2 years?

they say it should take 6 to 12 month but those applying from the US seem to take longer. Who knows, by the time you apply it might have gotten a bit faster or even a bit slower. I think Manila is probably going faster than Buffalo (not sure though).

You need one year of experience in an approved job to qualify. If you don't have that experience now, then you have to get 1 year of experience before applying. I am saying this, so that you can work out your timelines based on your experience.
