I am a software Engineer from India having 7.5 years of IT experience. My wife is a dentist and has 3+ years experience.

I am looking to migrate to Canada as a Federal Skilled Worker under general skilled migration (FSWP) when the governmentt start accepting applications again (when the revised FSWP selection criteria take effect) in May.

Me and my wife have passed the IELTS exam with 7+ in all sections.

I got in touch with a migration agent in India. As per their guidance they have asked me to do the credential evaluation with WES(ww.wes.org/) and be ready with the result in May, so that I can try in 2173 Software engineers and designers category and my wife in 3113 Dentists.

Can somebody throw some light into the overall procedure. Can I trust the migration agent?

Please help.

To qualify to apply, your occupation must appear on the desired occupations list. This list hasn't been announced yet by CIC (it will be announced sometime this month). So at this time is it not possible to say if you or your wife have the right occupations to qualify.

CIC also has not yet announed which will be the approved agencies for completing the credentials evaluation. It is certainly possibe that WES will be one of them but not guaranteed.

If your consultant is a good consultant he will have told you all of the above already. If he hasn't, you may want to find a new consultant or apply independently.

Brother, we two are in the same shoes. I don't have a birth certificate as well. But I have started the procedure to get it but it will take time.

I also really want to know if there is any alternate way to it. I hope some one else will clarify it.

I can show more than 10 lakhs of funds so that is not an issue, I'm not sure which way.

For certificates please visit the WES.org website. You need to provide attested copies of your post-secondary study (as mentioned in WES website).

You can provide "affidavit of birth" with confidence. Me & my spouse were not having birth certificates so we applied with affidavits for birth. I have done medicals & waiting for PPR

thanks mode......can u also advise me regarding education certificates do they need to asses by any agency if yes what is process please advise

This is a new rule which was not in practice when I applied in 2009. However I have to do my credential assessment too probably after landing because for further studies & job search it is valuable.

Sir

I am under this impression that CIC will accept credential evaluations from the date of their announcement of any agency , to give every one a fair chance , you can take chance , as WES is a reputed agency , and respected globally.

Kind Regards
