Hi friends
My Itinerary has been finalized on yesterday. I had blocked the tickets but didn't confirm till last week as Keethu's case has not yet been processed and we wish to travel together.
I am leaving India by mid of May to UAE and from UAE to Toronto by mid of June.
I am travelling through ETIHAD Airways till London and onward journey is with AIR CANADA.
Points to remember while selecting Itinerary
1.ETIHAD AND EMIRATES is operating services Via ABU DABHI and DUBAI direct flights to Toronto and they offers shortest flying hours of 14hrs from ABU DABHI/DUBAI to TORONTO.Qatar airways also operates services through DOHA to Toronto.
2.EMIRATES operates flights to Edmonton/Calgary.
3.Travelling through U.S requires Transit Visa
4.AIR CANADA is having code sharing(alliance partner) with Air India and Jet Air Airways from India. While selecting connecting airlines other than those specified before with Air Canada Pls check and re confirm the Transit time(3-4 hrs is ideal) in London or other airport. Transfer in between terminals may consume time and if your inward flight is delayed you may miss onward flight to Toronto.I have 4 hrs transit time in London.
5.SCHOOL VACATION starts from June on wards in Middle East and North America and obviously the fares will be too high in June and July and availability of seats is a big question mark.Emirates ticket rates are less in April and May and travellers are quite happy with the quality of service offered by Emirates.
6.People travelling from Metro is having wide options when compared with other cities in India. AIR CANADA operates services from Chennai/Mumbai and Delhi to Toronto and rates are reasonable.
7.Try with different options such as online/air line office and travel agent also while booking ticket. Before contacting airlines office do a home work and finalize 2-3 options and discuss with particular airline office/reputed and reliable travel agent.
8.BAGGAGE IDENTIFICATION is mandatory in London Heathrow airport.
9.Go through the rules and regulation of air line thoroughly.
10. Check whether the tickets are REFUNDABLE OR NON REFUNDABLE and if non refundable you may receive taxes or lean portion of fare on cancellation. Changing travel dates will consume more expenses and not suggested unless if its an emergency.
