Update Cuban Applicant from June 2019 - We received PPR October 17th. Decision Made was in July 2020.
My partner dropped off passport at the Embassy in Havana on Monday October 19th and on Friday October 23rd picked up passport with visa and COPR. There were quite a few other people also picking up passports last Friday.

We have a flight booked for Saturday November 7th Varadero to Toronto with Air Canada.
Those are great news thank for sharing. Good luck and have a nice flight. Congratulations!!!!

Hello everyone. The VAC office in Lima, Peru tell me that my passport will be sent to the Canadian Embassy in Lima, this confuse me because I thought my passport would go directly from the VAC office in Lima to the Canadian embassy in Mexico. Or it's s the Canadian embassy in Lima that will send my passport to the Canadian embassy in Mexico. VAC told me that my passport from the Lima embassy will be sent tomorrow at 11am. Tomorrow I will write an email to them and ask if they will send it to Mexico. I will appreciate the comments. Thank you

It’s over!!! Just received my passport back and COPR booking my flight tonight
Awesome news Mariana! So happy for you guys. I sure has been a long haul to get to this point. I have a question for you and mayber for Mitch5555 if he is still on here. Or anyone else that has received their COPR and passport and brought their spouse to Canada in the past couple of months.

Has anyone been told or applied for a travel exemption? We have been using a lawyer through this whole process. We have the passports back and the COPR and now my lawyer is saying that they are applying for a travel exemption. I have not yet asked what this is for as I wanted to ask this forum first.

My understanding with COVID is that our spouses are allowed to come to Canada once they have the COPR. Am I wrong in that?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hello... I read that your passport was not sent to Mexico to complete permanent residence, but that it was processed at the Canadian embassy of your country. As well? Do you know in which cases it is not sent to Mexico and it is processed in the country itself?

Hi- Yes, our passports were processed in Havana. Unfortunately, I do not know Mexico's criteria. Cuba does not have a VAC, so Biometrics and passports are handled at the embassy there.
