I’m a September 2019 applicant. Last communication I received was in January regarding the police certificate. Heard nothing yet. Biometrics are done as well. Any hope this will be over by September 2020 ?
Probably not. Some from 2018 are still waiting. Everything is basically at a stand still right now due to COVID19

Anyone ever had to redo their medical a second time??? An is it the entire medical or just parts of it??
I will probably have to do mine again to and it is my understanding that it is the same as the exams you did the first time. I could be wrong. It sucks though. I will have to pay to have 3 done....at the rate Mexico is going my child will be born and I'll have to do a fourth lol

I really think they should make exceptions for those of us who have been waiting for Mexico VO to process our applications and medical exams have expired (through no fault of our own) while the CoVid-19 situation is going on. It's not right that you should have to pay for all those medical exams again!

With all the money they are spending on citizens and entreprises.. not sure they gonna do exceptions like that. Immigration is a business unfortunately.

Yes I believe so too,but our stuff aren’t at Mexico VO it’s at Trinidad, everything completed even did my interview March 10th we’re just awaiting ppr, already got pre arrival, but now trinidad is saying a new sets of medical is required an that we have to wait until an officer can sent us that info to get it done IF IT IS REALLY NECESSARY! that’s what our email states. Weeks now we’re still waiting......

Hello everyone, I just want to give you all an update. I received an email from the mexico VO this morning regarding my husband's app. The Mexico VO has officially stopped working on all paper applications. I've pasted a copy of the email response below. Also, for anyone new to this, my husband's app was started Nov 13, 2018 (from St. Vincent and the Grenadines), his medical was approved March 3 2019. We got an extension update on April 7, 2020 that he did not have to do the medical again and we just got that confirmation in this email...

Good morning,

Mexico has officially declared the coronavirus pandemic a national public health emergency; suspending all but essential activities in the private and public sectors and asking the population to stay home. Accordingly, the Immigration Section of the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City is currently working with essential staff only and providing essential urgent services through teleworking. Unfortunately, this limits our ability to process paper-based applications such as permanent residence applications. The resumption of in-office services is subject to authorization from the local government. However, please note that the validity of Mr. Llewellyn’s medical examination has been extended until 2021/04/06.

Did you request the medical extension or was it automatically sent to you?

It was automatically done. I looked online one day and it was updated. In this email today they just confirmed that it is good for another year.. idk how they determine who needs to redo it and who doesn't.

It is very strange in my case it expired on March 15, I did not receive a request for a new one. But in gckey nothing of the medical appears to me anymore.

My GCkey just automatically updated. His medical expired March 3, 2020 and on April 7, 2020 it was updated to say that it was approved. Maybe around the 1 month mark you'll get an update.... Or no update at all until the covid shutdowns are over

So wait to have an update, god forbid everything ends soon for us.

I honestly don't know why some of us don't have to redo the medical and some do. I would think that because you haven't had a request for new medicals since they expired, you should be okay, but again I have no idea. It seems like it all depends on who's working on the file. Hopefully you get the same good news we did!
