The Department is currently processing applications received up to:

- October 9, 2019 for a spouse, common-law partner or dependent child;
- November 22, 2019 for other family members.

Crossing fingers is close now to the end for both!

Look, I’ve been going to Peru for decades and in fact took my Cuban wife there three times last year before she got PR in Canada. The policy you refer to has nothing to do with the airlines but is rather a Peruvian government oddity. Every pax has to have a return ticket to their country of origin if they dont have PR where they are going first.

Period. I’ve been kicked off a flight in Lima because it went to Miami and I had a Canadian passport; more recently Ive had to show a ticket to Canada when Ifly from Lima to Cuba.

It’s stupid but there it is.
So in the case of my wife, the visa stamp cleary says category IMMIGRANT and accompagned with COPR, will she have problem with one-way ticket. I've been told no.

Help!!!!
Last week the sponsor status said IN PROSSES in the permanet resident part. Today, when I entered It had changed into APPLICATION RECEIVED. Is that normal? I believe I am going steps back!!!! please someone who can explains to me.
Thank you in advance.

I'm always asked to produce a return ticket and even have to show insurance when landing in Canada and sometimes the US as a visitor, it's not a Peru only thing.

I'm from the DR if you go by what their regulations are they require a return ticket, and they can choose when to enforce this.

If I was the person asking for information I would go straight to the Peruvian authorities, and try to get something in writing from them.

Hi Mariana,

Out of curiosity, where did you recieve those dates from? Did that information come from the Mexico Visa Office? I hope so, I am an October 28th 2019 person.

Thank you.
Jeff

Yes this is only for the ones who are Quebec applicants like me and @patvicto only, since we are waiting for a certificate of Quebec if you are from another province this doesn't apply to you , no worries.

Call their Embassy, I don't think anyone here has the authority to answer that question as they could. Also try to find out if the Canadian Embassy in Peru has a CBSA they can probably also clarify at the airport if the person is allowed to board or not.
Alternatively, you can also buy a return ticket the same day you are travelling and then cancel it within 24 hours.

Does the sponsor have to inform CIC if they moved. I was living in Guyana with my wife hoping we would come back at the same time, but after having not heard any news I came back to Canada last week. Do I need to inform CIC and if so where? Thanks

i dont think it's that important as long as you returned home... they have traces of your entry with CBSA unless you were there for a really long while (6 months...ane up) obviously is not that good for a sponsor

I was excited for a minute to see that lol. I am from Ontario and application from January 7 2019 but they sent a message saying they started processing October 23. I thought it was almost my time.
