@ fingerscrossedinsask

I arrived at about 00:12, and was out of the immigration office at about 00:13. Just kidding haha, it was more like 00:20. But that was only because there were absolutely no people in front of me. So he can calculate how long it'll take for him by assigning about 10 min per person, I'm adding 2 more min per person because well, some don't speak english and hold up the line, and others have a lot less to declare so they take less too. In my case they didn't even ask me for the B4/A

The Personal effects accounting document or B4 is an inventory of everything he's bringing to Canada. He needs to have this filled out and signed so the CBSA agent can stamp it and they don't tax him in customs for importing goods into Canada. The B4A is just an extension of the B4 if he's bringing too much stuff. And as I've just proven, you can get them online.

Mine wasn't checked btw, and I even had to tell the IO I had it with me, so she just stamped it with a smile and sent me on my way.

Hope it all goes fast and easy!

EDIT: Tell him he has to tell every officer he sees that he's landing for the first time, or landing for the first time as a permanent resident.

Thank you so much for your answer! I hope it goes so well for my husband also! May I ask where you landed?
Also, I have seen mentioned a few times about photos of jewelry, etc ... he has his wedding ring but that is all ... does he need a picture of it also?

I landed in Vancouver :)

it's not really that much bigger I don't think, all you're missing from the Calgary airport is the country music haha

LOL, give me a break! Not all (or really any) of us Calgary folk are country bumpkins! Although we do have beautiful ranches and in the area:) I have to admit that the volunteers at the airport in the white hats are a bit funny though! VIVA!!!!

haha indeed, I was received to Canada to country music twice though

Felices pascuas a todos mis compatriotas!!! :-*

I need an advise.

As must of you know I'm re-applying outland after getting my inland app. refused a month ago. In the Background/Declaration questionnaire, I need to answer and provide details if a permanent resident visa was refused before. I have with me the NOTES of my interview in which the officer states the reason of my refusal. The officer didn't believe in our relationship but there are some answers changed in the letter. When she asked me Why I didn't marry my husband in Mexico she changed my answer saying -because I hire an immigration representative and he told me this is the only way to get out of Canada with no problem - plus my representative sent the application saying that my husband had no income, he didn't send our bank statements and he answered that my husband has never been in a conjugal partner relationship before when he got his PR through a conjugal partner application =( This is so unfair, I don't worry about the wrong information my representative sent because we can prove the income and explain the past conjugal partner relation ship, but I'm so worried about the answer in the interview. I think the officer didn't believe thanks to the wrong information the representative sent but How can I prove that she changed some of my answers, it's my word against an officer word and I know I can't win it.
Should I sent the NOTES of the interview with my new application? or maybe I just need to send a brief explanation of why I got refusal or Should I explain that my representative was a scam to me? I'm lost with this, please any advise or thoughts.

Hi again reginac,

From what I was told by our immigration consultant, just be 110% honest about EVERYTHING! Provide explanation letters from the heart. Give evidence. Do not leave any question marks or red flags unanswered. If you were given improper advice from a professional you need to state that as well...it atleast shows that you tried to solve your issues by seeking out a representative and I think that speaks volumes. Just my two cents:) Good luck!

yeah, we received our "immigration consulting" from our doctor (the guy who did my medicals) and he said the single most important thing you must never ever ever ever do in an immigration application is lie. Because <as he put it> "... if he's lying about this one thing, could he be lying about this other thing? What can we consider true of this application?"

So that's probably what happened in your application, an immigration consultant screwed up something of yours, and the immigration officers saw that as lies, which resulted in refusal.

My advice this time around is to just lay it out for them, don't leave any point from the interview notes unanswered from your point of view.

And well just remember that being your word against theirs shouldn't frighten you when you're being honest.

kdr and jendrian

Thank you so much for your help, I will send a huge explanation of every single point about my interview, I don't want to leave any red flags.

Does anyone know If I can report the immigration consultant? After my refusal I've been hearing a lot of complaints against him. He was like one of the "best" consultants out there but It seems that he became a greedy person, from what I heard, he will tell you how easy and fast you will get your process done in about 6 months but when you pay him he never look at your application, his secretaries do the work and when the refusal comes he will say everything was your fault and he will try to offer you a discount to help you with your next application. In my case he never look at my application but he told me I was getting PR in 6 months for sure. He has the ability to wash your brain easily. When my app was transferred to Vancouver, I called several times to ask him Why the application was transferred and his secretary never let me talk to him directly, instead they said the reason of the transfer is something that we could not know, we have to wait for an interview. When my interview letter arrived he tried to "prepare" us but at the same time he gave us the "advise" to be rude to the immigration officer and ask for my PR immediately without doing the background checks because I had waited 2 years for the interview (of course I didn't take the advise and never said anything to the officer) also he said my interview was more a routine than an a real interview because we are a real couple and the pictures spoke for themselves. He said -you will be at the office for 5 minutes because there is nothing wrong with you two. When the refusal letter came to his hands he offered us a discount to help us giving us a discount in our new app outland. =( This is very sad to me but If I can report this man and save other people from him I will feel better. I know I'm not the only one he scammed and I want to do something.

What a sad story ReginaC:( So sorry you had to deal with a sketchy consultant! Is he a member of Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants? He should be if he is a licensed Immigration Practioner. You could defenitely contact the society and tell them about your experience. THeres actually a link on thier website for complaint guidelines and it also inlcudes a list of members that have been suspended and revoked. Sadly this seems like it is a common thing...... We had a consultant that we used on an hourly basis just to scan over our package and ensure that everything was perfect and she also made a few suggestions on things we should modify but it was such a positive experience and I feel that she helped make our application stronger. Good luck and I would look into the complaint process outlined on the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants Website!

14 days till I get to go to DF to see my hubby:)))))))

kdr

I will look for a consultant or lawyer and work on an hourly basis, (I'm just afraid of being scammed). I worked under the table for a few months before getting married because it was difficult to support myself just with the money my Dad was sending me then I stop working and my husband was supporting me 100% (economically). When I sent my first application the person who filled it out told me to not mention this because it was irrelevant information and immigration will not look at this. I never said I worked but I never was asked about it by immigration not even during my interview. I don't know If I need to mention this in my new application or If I just need to focus in my relationship. Everytime I look to my application lots of questions come to my mind, I'm sorry to ask that much.

Congratulations you're almost with your husband, mine will come next Tuesday to visit me =)

I sent you a PM ReginaC:)
