wow I was checking into your time line, they gave you almost 3 months to land into Canada, They gave me one month to travel before my COPR expires, now still running with packing, I have a question did you already enrolled into the pre arrival service? how did you fill out the form with the list off goods you are bringing with you?

No I have not started any pre-arrival for my wife. Do you have recommendations and unsure about which form you are talking about. Did it come with the passport and COPR. I'm not with my wife yet planning to travel with her and I guess I will see it then.

Hey everyone an immigration agent told me that if I ask for notes it will delay the application. Has anyone else experienced this?I'm confused

ill answer in this thread as you posted in a couple - if youre paying this agent, fire them. It is your right to know about your application and it does not delay anything.

Thanks ! Good luck with for application

apparently the consulate was NOT affected by the earthquake and some people are working. the government declared 3 days of mourning, however i am not sure when that started. just to give people some insight...

My lawyer told me same thing. He said absolutely do not order them. Don't want to chance it as my application is delicate. So waiting. Today is one year since application reached Mexico....not done yet!

I disagree. Its your right to the information. The officer doesnt get involved with notes. Its a different sector

There are really only two options here: you got either an incompetent agent who doesn't know the immigration process or lazy one who doesn't want to work on your requests.
Either option is not looking good and I would not trust such a consultant.

Ordering notes does not and cannot affect processing negatively. Notes are pulled from the system by another department - not the processing officer, this is evident by the agent IDs listed when the notes are provided. When you do request notes, the fact that notes were requested does get attached to the file, so the processing officer can see the requests but it is not relevant to their work.

Regardless, to penalize an applicant for exercising lawful right to information about themselves could get such officers in trouble.

In our case, I ordered notes 3 times to track progress, our processing time from application to PPR was 10 months, and that was with overstay. If anything, ordering notes helped to speed up the processing.

So far no updates??? I was hopping to hear from VO around this time...:( but no, nothing yet. I am starting to feel my application will take more than a year to be processed and nothing i can do... at least it would be nice to see that other people is getting news...

We sent our application in November 20th,2016 . We would get notices from them every 2 months. On May 10th ,2017 I had to redo my medical and fill an updated version of the background declaration form. I sent it to them May 25th and they got it on the 26h . It's been 4 months since then and we have heard nothing yet from them. We are on the 10 month mark in the process. My husband sent them an email and a few weeks ago and they said they need nothing from us. . I'm just wondering is this normal? It's just so stressful since next month we'll hit the 11 month mark. I live in the US but I was born in Mexico. My Husband lives in Canada and is a permanent resident. So they sent my stuff to the embassy in Mexico city. I thought this extra info would be helpful.

We got an email for interview in October from Mexico.

Wow. Thats so soon. Are you gunna go to the interview? Was it an email sent from the officer or an official request?

It just so happened that I booked a flight to go visit and the interview is 2 days before I fly back home. Talk about crazy timing!
It was sent from the Same Mexico email address that the Aor came from. The attachment was a letter stating the date and all info with initials mvc.

We haven't prepared really at all so I guess we should start preparing now. I wasn't expecting it so soon.
