ok, so no communication has been received so far on our ETA application and we are well past 72 hours ( which is the timeline as per CIC to touch base with my wife ).

Tried to initiate a case specific enquiry and website is throwing errors. Will try to initiate again later today. My wife is very much concerned ETA will be rejected. Explained to her that there is no clause for rejection of ETA coz of pending permenant resident application unless there is some serious questions on criminality etc which she doesn't have. We were hoping to spend time together for our 1st wedding anniversary.

Let's see, but this is just ridiculous and getting into nerves.

Was able to raise case specific enquiry and they told that they sent "approval" email to my wife, which she never received . I will be ordering GCMS notes to see if they have "updated" the email address correctly. In short, ETA is approved for next 5 years.

My application is taking forever , 14 months passed ( 5 of which was consumed by the RCMP to deliver a Record check ) . PGR , RCMP Check , Photos and form A sent about a month ago to the VO , I'm expecting them to request an ARC Very soon I hope .

My timeline was very good , at 7 months the requested Photos , schedule A and PGR .
I suggest your prepare your RCMP documents as soon as possible and have it ready in case they request it . if you are in Mexico its hard to get someone to take your fingerprints .

Shoot to late for that. Dec. 1. They got requested the RCMP, finger prints. My husband is in Mexico. So he's looking for thru a friend for fingerprints so for that we're ok. For RCMP we have to get that going. We will have ARC to deal with as well!

Did your husband overstayed and was ordered to leave Canada i.e deported ? if so RCMP could take 120 to 180 days to complete the verification . If none of that apply you can receive it in 1 week .
but I doubt it since you are in line for ARC .

Yeah ours is going to be a lengthy process. He was ordered to leave, PRAA was denied. Apparently our lawyer will take care of RCMP check.

Guys, what is ARC?

ARC - Authorization to return to Canada

Thank you! And under what circumstances would someone need that, as far as this type of application goes?

Also, all the RCMP stuff you guys are talking about, is only if you have lived in Canada for more than 6 months right?
