You can't try or get an extension for medicals by yourself !!!! CIC decides if you need a new one or extend the old one .

Your extension for medicals would be determined by CIC. If CIC requires you to redo medicals, you have to follow procedure, unless there is reason not to do so.

I'm curious as to why we have not received a request to redo medicals. Our medicals expired on October 8th... we applied January 8th which is a couple weeks before you. Maybe a request is coming? Any thoughts?? Also we sent I. Police check 2 months ago....waiting for passport request now

I have seen CIC taking a call on medical extensions etc. if You don't hear back on redoing medical, likely because you are on last stages of processing.

Okay I was just curious because above someone posted they got a request to redo medicals... but I guess every case is different. Maybe I just got lucky that they did not request new medicals. Thank you for your reply

I think they asked my husband to take Medical again, because they anticipate it will take longer than December 9 (MEd expiry date) to make a decision
If they have not asked you for Medical again, yes, probably is because they are just about to make a decision.
However, I phoned CIC yesterday, and the agent told me that my husband have to land in Canada, while his Medical is still valid...
So many scenarios that we can apply to our situations, that sometimes, I just don't want to think of it anymore

Yeah it just shows every situation is different. Technically all rules should apply for everyone. Our medicals are already expired and my husband is not in Canada. Like I said maybe we just got lucky or maybe the request is coming...who knows! Hopefully not! Good luck!

For me is hard, not only for the money we spent ($US 200) but I feel this will delay the process...
They definitely extended the Medical in your case...

Do you request your GSCM notes? explain a lot!

Maybe this is a good news, see that your backgroung check change! maybe your elegibility is done and when your medical exams are complete they will give you PPR. They are working in your file...

I think it's good because at least everything else is done and it will be ppr after this. My husband's medical exam is expiring tomorrow, and we haven't heard from MVO since AOR2 on May 3! I would be more than glad if I could receive the re-medical request.

Hi all: I would like to contact the MVO by email to request receipt of the 2 additional documents I sent by mail (tracking info indicates it was received August 17th). My worry is that they haven't been matched up with the file yet since it's been over two months with no word.

It is stated in so many places on CIC's website that "inquiries will result in delays in processing your application" that it has me afraid to write!

Given I know the package arrived (via tracking info), should I leave well enough alone, or ask the question? Opinions appreciated!

BTW the deadline they gave for sending the documents was October 3rd.

I would leave it alone since tracking info says it was received. Was there a name provided to know who signed for it? Maybe like Octavio or Oswaldo like i've been seeing on this forum?
