So guess what?
This day we received an email requesting my husband to go for Medical Exam... His Medical expires December 9/16... So I'm thinking that Mexico is anticipating more wait in this process...
I phoned CIC and they referred me to web form or email Mexico... :-[

Oh no really? That sucks, especially that they are not even expired yet! Sometimes they even extend the medicals...

Hi DeHdez15 - It's good to hear that your background checks are now in process. You should try to get an extension on your medicals before actually redoing them....

Here's the link from the cic website. Hope it gives you an additional helping hand in determining whether you will have the extension or not.

It is based on their criteria of eligibility:

1) Every application is handled different. If you provided on Schedule A where you've been since the age of 18 till the time you sent out your application, most likely you won't be asked to update it.

2) If you sent your 6 photos upfront with your application, you won't be asked for additional photos upon PGR request, other than the 2 for the Police clearance they need to keep in their records before issuing the police clearance. The 2 additional photos are asked with PPR or COPR request.

3) If you paid your RPRF upfront, you won't be asked for it with PGR request.

Some applications go faster at the beginning than others then slow down as other documents are requested....

Not necessarily True .

Although I agree some application are handled different .
1) even if you provided Schedule A from 18 to the day you submitted your application , you will be requested later on for the same form Covering the Period from application date to present .
2) I sent the 6 Photos upfront and they requested 4 more with PGR .
3) why would they request a second RPRF if you paid it already ?

You can't try or get an extension for medicals by yourself !!!! CIC decides if you need a new one or extend the old one .

I think it's good because at least everything else is done and it will be ppr after this. My husband's medical exam is expiring tomorrow, and we haven't heard from MVO since AOR2 on May 3! I would be more than glad if I could receive the re-medical request.

So what can we do? Can we send a request to MVO for updates?

send an email asking for update to MXICOIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca

Will that action slow down the process even more?

Your extension for medicals would be determined by CIC. If CIC requires you to redo medicals, you have to follow procedure, unless there is reason not to do so.
