How about police clearance certificates ?

Nothing not even that even i found it weird since it was only valid for 3 months but they didn't ask for it even though my husband is in Canada right now and i dunno if he would've had to go back to Dominican Republic to get it and come back since hes here on a TRV but nope they didn't ask for one.

Congratulations Labbadulc!!

That's a great timeline! Well done! I've added your passport request date to your timeline on the Mexico timeline spreadsheet. Please keep us updated on the date you send the passport in, the date MCVO receives it and the date you get it back, and finally the date your husband lands!

Thanks!

Thanks CANzanillo :) :) :) :) I sent the passport Yesterday so 08/25/2016 FedEx said they should get it tomorrow hopping no issues with customs so probably Saturday they should have it i guess or Monday if their closed on week ends i'm not sure.

Ahh and my husband landed already but with a visitor visa back on May 06 2016 so i guess we will just have to go to the border once we get the passport back to "flag pole"

I don't want to get into a political debate on here but average processing time for the applicants we have on our timeline spreadsheet over the last 5 years is 305 days, from the date application received to date passport was returned stamped to applicant. Labbadulc's application is at 300 days now and they still have to wait to get the stamped passport back which is an average of about 15 days, potentially more between DR and Mexico.

I don't think that Justin has anything to do with a perceived improvement (or not) in processing times and it's more to do with the substance of Labbdulc's application.

Here's hoping he "really" does something tangible and substantial to unite families and it not just be political rhetoric. Personally I doubt that they will change the processes/eligibilty/security/criminality, etc substantially, perhaps only adding employees to improve processing times.

Complete, accurate and detailed applications are the best way to achieve shorter processing times.

Just my 2 cents.

Speedy processing Everyone!

I was referring in general. On the May forum, applications are getting processed in 4 Mos. or so. 25 million dollars were invested so families can unite faster than in the past (if you're part of the backlog, you will see the difference, "May applicants included). Yes, straight forward applications will be process faster but the process will never change as Canada does not welcome criminals or people with serious illnesses, etc... For Mexico, as of December 1st "No Visa will be needed to enter Canada (only an ETA)" & you will be able to visit your loved one while your application is in process. Some applicants in this forum have taken a long time to finish their process and their applications have been denied but never post the reasons.... For the rest of us, I wish all the best and a speedy process! as you say....... "Mexico should have Monthly forums" this one goes back to 2010..

I sincerely appreciate your optimism, and trust me I stand to be corrected, but wait times from Sponsorship Approval to AOR2 through the Mexico VO are in the 10 - 14 week time frame, please see the Mexico Timeline spreadsheet. Personally, my wife's application took 5 months from SA to AOR2. I hope your and everyone's gets done in 4 - 6 weeks like your immigration consultant says, but I wouldn't hold your breath. BTW, applications that are processed through the Ottawa office are always processed quickly - for visa exempt applicants I believe.

ETA has been in the works since 2014 under the previous Gov. I truly hope it'll be easier for applicants to visit their spouse in Canada while they await the process!

I just point these things out because everyone needs to have realistic expectations of processing times otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy with despair when you don't reach milestones when you think you should!

We'd love to add your timeline to the Mexico spreadsheet as that is about as accurate as you can get from real applicants as far as processing times go. Immigration consultants do not speed up the process in any way, despite what they may say, as many here have learned in the past.

Can I add your timeline?

Thank you for your participation in the Mexico forum. We welcome it and I'm sure your contributions and optimism are and will be appreciated!

As I always say... Speedy processing!!

I just got confirmation from DHL my pakage containing my passports will be here by Monday
Thank god !!!
Now i can book my flight back to Canada

Quick question here. We had our PGR back in May and it was sent off mid-May. We haven't heard anything yet which would put it at 80+ days between PGR and PPR. Should we be worried? I noticed that they usually haven't been taking this long. Is there any way for us to check with them to make sure nothing was lost/misplaced?
