Hi

I'm legally divorced to my first wife provided proof (which was my divorce certificate) when we submitted spousal sponsorship application for my .... My question is, once they receive my divorce certificate is it enough for them that I am legally divorced?

Good news this morning !

*** Correction to the quote below, I did not get AOR2***

I got the second line on my ECAS but no letter or email, I guess no AOR2. I am also surprised my 3rd line did not appeared with"Medical Received" we sent them through their online service directly from the doctor.

Permanent Residence

  • We received xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx application for permanent residence on December 23, 2015
  • We started processing xxxxxxxxxx application on April 29, 2016.

I feel the MXVO is picking up speed ! I applied December 22nd, got SA approval on February 16th and now some more movement..

Hopefully it continues flowing and I can have my wife here for xmas !

Good luck everyone

Hello,

I have been reading the information on this forum and it has been very helpful. My fiancé applied for a visitor visa on March 16 and was approved for a multiple entry visa on April 14. It is valid until 2019. Yay!!! He applied through the Mexican consulate in Mazatlan. The officer there was very helpful and helped to make sure he had all the documents for a successful application. It didn't take long for the approval but up front paperwork took awhile to gather.
He is now in Canada and will get married while he is here. He will return to Mexico in month.
We want to apply for his permanent residence after we get married.
Questions I have are:
Outland or inland? Is Outland faster?
Once they receive the application can apply for a work permit while in process?

Thank for your replies and if anyone has questions about the visitor visa ( trv) I maybe able to help.

Hello everyone,

I'm sponsoring my wife who is in Mexico. In order to ask for GCMS notes, who is the one who ask for those notes? is me as the sponsor? Do I need her written consent? is it enough with a simple letter saying that she allows me to ask for that info? Thank you

Hi ,
the sponsor asks for the notes on behalf of the applicant .
here's a link to the consent form :
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5744E.pdf
and here's where you file for the notes :

It really depends. Outland is faster BUT many things come into place.... can you even submit your application inland? Can you prove he lives in Canada?

I think he is only eligible to apply outland (even if you try inland, his file will be moved outland if you cannot prove he lives in Canada).

(Living is not the same as visiting).

Please verify eligibility using the tool:

You can always apply.... before or in process... but the likelyhood of getting it differs and the eligibility as well.

You can submit an OWP application AT THE SAME TIME that you file for Family PR.... that is the correct way to do it. If you do it after he will have to show he has a job offer... and for that... well it is quite hard if he is not living in Canada.

60 days after interview but decision is not made yet , File is undergoing Routine Background checks ... What are they ? Before interview I ordered and found that ;

Eligibility : In-progress

Criminality : Passed

Security : _________

Medical : Passes

if before interview these are done , now what background checks are being done ?? Are they Doing Security Checks ?

I think the certificate should be enough , they don't need more proofs .

did you hear anything yet ?

I would assume they are redoing security checks because they did them early on in the file and wanted to make sure it is still clear
