Don't be worried my dear! My medical will expire soon too, but my husband told me that he read in other forum in french that if we don't get the visa before the year that the medicals are "ok", they will give another year of extension for the expiration date. They don't supposed to ask for more medical tests, just in rare cases.

Thank you Nprendiz, you are right, i will send a letter in the case specific enquiry in about a week since i already sent them 2 e-mails, i know o should send so many e-mails buy i freaked out xD.
I will send them a letter telling them it's imposible to get his Colombian birth certificate in Canada. Before i send the police certificate and the other stuff they asked me for.

Oh god hopefuly it won't be a motive for a reyection :(

I don't know LovelyComplex, is there any one that can request it for him in Colombia? Some one? A gestor or something? Before sending the email, try to find something like a letter or print a website where you can prove that he has to be there in Colombia and that due to work or whatever, it is not possible for you guys to ask for one. He should have a copy here somewhere, doesn't he? I've given like thousands and I've been here only 8 months jajaja

Hi everyone!

Arrived back in Calgary on Saturday with 1 husband! . Landing went well, the CIC officer was nice, asked some very basic questions. We waited a long time as he read through our file on his computer, but was fairly straight forward. He said we didn't need a B4 form or any list of accompanying good,s only if they are to follow (pretty sure that was wrong). In 1 day we got his SIN, Health Care and a bank account (ask about free accounts for new immigrants, he got 1 year no fees). Just settling in, showing him around, and getting back to work. So happy, I have to pinch myself every morning that he is finally here!

PR Card can take about 2 months, during which time you cannot leave the country, as your visa is valid for 1 entry only, you do not have a legal right to re-enter... We were hoping to make it to ?Houston for Canadian Thanksgiving, but that may be cutting it too close, and I don't know if he can get a US visa without the PR Card... We will see.

Best wishes to you all!

Thanks for updating us Tishness! I updated your timeline in the spreadsheet with August 1st as the landing date. Glad everything went well with the landing and settling in.

I am concerned for ourselves that, assuming we get approved, the PR card will arrive in time for a March 18th, 2016 business/vacation trip to Portugal we have bought and paid for. Hard to now whether we will be flying there from Mexico or from Calgary. I read that you can make a request for to provide the PR Card on an urgent basis. Did you enquire about that?

Gracias, estoy muy feliz gusto ayer a una amiga le dieron la PR, ella aplicó en noviembre 2014. Soon we will be celebrating like my friend (applicant from November 2014) she got the PR yesterday https://instagram.com/p/6BU7xKokvY/

Thank you guys for your congratulations, we are over the moon! I have a quick question ( i emailed cic and am still awaiting their response) We have 2 children, one was born in America and he doesnt need a visa but our son who was just recently born at the end of march was born in Mexico and does need a visa. I let CIC know as soon as he was born with a copy of his birth certificate. Is he automatically a dependent ? Also, do I send his passport with my husbands ??

Hi canzanillo, I didn't ask about an urgent card and he didn't mention it, however he did say if you need to leave you can contact the canadian embassy and they can reissue you another entry visa though it may still take a few weeks. Let's hope your approval porcoss goes quickly and that 2 months is really more of a maximum as most timelines they give us are. I too have booked and paid my flight to Houston, I may have to cancel too if we can't get this done.

I'm going to play CANzanillo s guessing game, I think Lorrein will receive PPR in less that one week! Either that or she's going to receive some documents request. Something tells me that actually they're not sending aors at the beginning of the process as before. :D let's see

We got my wife's passport back yesterday with the visa in it. It arrived in the MCVO on Monday and we already got it back. Really fast!! It's valid until October. We bought tickets last night. We'll be leaving here the first week of Sept. For Tishness just curious but what questions were you asked? Also did you get the S.I.N. at the airport when you landed? What bank did you get an account with and what I.D. did they ask for? Thanks again. Good luck everyone.

Hi Jamo - so happy to hear you are finally finished! So he asked where we met, when we got married, if it was my husband's first time to Canada, if he had been refused entry, had a criminal record, or any additional dependents. You should have 2 sheets that say "confirmation of permanent residence" 1 has a photo, the other doesn't. They will return the one without the photo to you, this is what you need for your SIN #, and you cannot get it at the airport, you need to go to a service Canada centre http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/cgi-bin/sc-srch.cgi?ln=eng . You can go anytime that they are open, no appointment needed, she will need her passport and the confirmation of permanent residence sheet. It only takes a few minutes, but there may be a wait. You will also need the confirmation sheet for provincial health care - which province are you heading to?

We're going to B.C. I have just finished filling out the MSP forms. We just send those by mail and include a copy of her COPR? Also did you have health insurance or do you have to wait 3 months? And which bank has that offer?
