Hello everyone!!!

Our file was received in Ottawa on May 4th. My first AOR acknowledged that they started to process my SA on May 29th, but only today did the "Processing Times Family Sponsorship" change and says that now they are processing files received on May 4th...??? ???

I don't get it, it said it would take about 55 days for the SA after they received it but I have two different dates they started processing mine??? :-\

Don't worry about the dates posted or if your Ecas says a different date from the day you received AOR - ours didn't change for months after. Your best indication of time, is the spreadsheet here. The most important thing is your received AOR. Did you receive SA at the same time or are you still waiting for it? Some people get both AOR and SA together, others don't. CIC is all over the map with what they do in each person's case so don't stress about it.

Thank you very much Maguita!!!!!!!

Just a thought, all of you that have waited a very long time, JAMO, Dasher, Fabibeach, if you have notes since your file has been in Mexico, who is your Processing Officer? Or the initials on the bottom of correspondence emails? Maybe someone had you files and left and that is the reason for the delay in re-assigning? Again, just a thought. Mine is LG, I'll refrain from posting her full name, but perhaps you are all/were all assigned to the same person?
thanks tishness, the initials on the bottom of the letters i have gotten from CIC are LG aswell, i have no idea what does mean

The "Processing Times Family Sponsorship" date is the "Official" date that the CIC posts. You can mostly pay no attention to it. The important thing is that you received AOR and that they are working on your sponsorship as of May 29th. You may already have been approved and just haven't yet received your SA approval letter which they often MAIL to you instead of EMAILING it to you. In my case they mailed the SA letter to me in Mexico. It took 5 weeks to receive here in Manzanillo. Unless the sponsorship portion of your application is complicated, you should likely have already received SA. You can call the CIC (CPC Mississauga) to request information regarding the sponsorship decision. Call 613-944-4000, press 1 until you get to the "change of address" menu option, then press 0 to be transferred to a live person. From there they will ask you some security questions, including your UCI number, to confirm your identity... assuming you are the applicant or the approved representative.

Good luck and we wish you fast processing.

Dasher and anyone else roaming around here ;), we'd love to include your information in the Mexico spreadsheet. It helps all of us understand better what is happening in the CPC Mississauga office and MCVO.

If you wish to, here are the key dates to fill out and I can enter them into the spreadsheet for you if you are not comfortable doing it. Please be specific and accurate.

Check back often to update your data. We are all here to support each other, just sometimes a little quiet while we wwwwwaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiittttttttt!! 8) ;D :D :P ??? :'(

Live1001, tx for entering your data in the spreadsheet. Feel free to introduce yourself here in the forum.

I noticed that you have put a file transfer date of June 22 2015 in your timeline but have not included a date for your SA. Did you receive an SA letter? and if so what was the date of Spousal approval quoted in the letter?

We just want to ensure accurate information in the spreadsheet.

Tyvm!!

Hello everyone. I got mail from VO Today:

"Please note that due a delay in a clerical process your documents will be mailed within the next week.
Regarding the date of your landing, be advised that an extension has been granted and your visa will be valid until 2016/05/20, therefore you will have until that date to do your landing in Canada."

Am so happy, after seven weeks since I sent my passport I was feeling totally lost and hopeless. Im just so happy now.

Very happy for you Fabibeach! The long wait is almost over! You guys must be overwhelmed with joy!

How do I request notes? Do I just request them by sending an email to the Mexico office or is there a special form for this?

Thank you Tishness! No I haven't received the SA yet, I'm hoping this week sometime as it's been over the 57 days they list - but who knows ::) I will wait and see.

Thank you CANzanillo! I will check my mail box then, I never get mail anymore so I haven't checked it for over a week... wouldn't that be too funny if it's there. :o I hope to hear something this week, otherwise I will give them a call. I don't think my sponsorship should be complicated but then again, who knows what they think.

Good luck to you too, I see you are stuck in limbo land..

I'm so happy for you :) we got sa feb 12 so you have give me some hopes, i really think they sent me Aor by regular mail instead of mail. But who knows i will order notes tomorrow and keep hoping they will send me an email with AOr2 very soon. Congratulations again, hopefuly you'll get your visa in a month or less.

Hi Lovelycomplex, can I ask you - did you send in your medical after your application? My husband hasn't done his yet and is setting up an appointment now (our file is still in Mississauga), but I was reading on the CIC website and it says somewhere that you can send it in with the application or when they request it... I'm wondering if he does the medical at the MEI in Mexico City, before the Visa Office requests it, will it still work? I'm hoping to still speed up the process rather then wait for them to request. ::)

It will work to do it before the VO requests it. You can submit a case specific enquiry into the VO once you've done it (and you know they have the application). By doing it before they ask for it, the medical results will be ready for them to pull it into your file when they look for it (avoiding delays).

Good luck!

Hello Chrillan, the best choise was to send it with all your papers with the application to avoid delays. My husband and I, we sent our application with all papers Canadian Visa Office ask from the very beginning. But my husband checked on another forum and read that you can send it later with the number of the case if you have it already or the client number.
Good luck in your process.

Hey all!
Just popping in to say that hubby landed on 2 July. We drove up to Niagara Falls to do it, stayed for the weekend and drove back home. I have to add here for anyone else thinking about landing at Rainbow Bridge - DON'T DO IT! We waited in immigration for 7 freaking HOURS >:( There were a couple other people waiting to land as PRs and many to activate working holiday visas. None of those people waited less than 5 hours. When someone got pissed enough to ask one of the officers what the problem was, we were all informed that we were "low priority." I guess after day trippers and people who walked/drove into Canada accidentally.

They would call people and then send them to sit down, call them again and send them to sit down. They didn't even call my husband the first time until 10.30pm and that was to ask him what he was doing there today. What the hell?!?! You have a slip of paper saying that he's landing. Geez. So, we tell him he's here to land and the officer says that he'll fill in the form, go have a seat. Call #2: sign here and here. Have a seat. Call #3: Take your Goods Lists to that guy over there and he'll handle it. Customs guy: Let's have you Goods to Follow list. Oh this is very organized. Good job. Stamp stamp stamp. You're all set. All of this takes no more than 30 minutes.

I don't understand why they would hold up people that have already approved COPRs and working visas. All they have to do is stamp it; there's nothing to check, but that's their policy. They were rude enough to tell one guy that was waiting about 4 hours, that it was his problem and he should have made an appointment. Ugh.

Curse you, Internet, for making me think it would've been a cake walk. :P
