Thanks for the info!

I'm worry because I sent my medicals upfront and they are about to expire. Since they have been taking that long to process the files I think that probably by time that they open my case they will have to request for a new one :(

Thanks anyways for the info!

Don't be worried my dear! My medical will expire soon too, but my husband told me that he read in other forum in french that if we don't get the visa before the year that the medicals are "ok", they will give another year of extension for the expiration date. They don't supposed to ask for more medical tests, just in rare cases.

Hello Carlos / Mariah, I am really sorry to hear about your situation. My personal advice is to not try to stay if they say not. As far as I know, canadian inmigration is really really serious in their matters. You can find a lawyer and get specialized advices.
Hope you can find a solution to not lose contact with your beloved ones.

Translation of E-mails, etc

Hi Everyone,

I'm just wondering when you sent in proof of relationship, e-mail history, text msgs, etc... can they be in spanish or are we supposed to translate them to English? Thanks:)

They need to be translated into english. In my case I did it myself. All "official" spanish documents had official english translations, for example our marriage certificate, but emails and whatsapp conversations that we included i translated.

Hope that helps.

Hello everyone!!!

Our file was received in Ottawa on May 4th. My first AOR acknowledged that they started to process my SA on May 29th, but only today did the "Processing Times Family Sponsorship" change and says that now they are processing files received on May 4th...??? ???

I don't get it, it said it would take about 55 days for the SA after they received it but I have two different dates they started processing mine??? :-\

Hello everyone. I got mail from VO Today:

"Please note that due a delay in a clerical process your documents will be mailed within the next week.
Regarding the date of your landing, be advised that an extension has been granted and your visa will be valid until 2016/05/20, therefore you will have until that date to do your landing in Canada."

Am so happy, after seven weeks since I sent my passport I was feeling totally lost and hopeless. Im just so happy now.

Hello everybody

this is my first time writing in this blog, i started to read it one week ago in my desperation to find some information about my application.

I applied for my PR in September 29 2014, everything was going well and smoothly, CIC sent me and email on February 26 2015 requesting my PGR letter and my RRPF wich i sent to MCVO on March 23 2015, since that date i havent hear anything from CIC, no emails nothing has change in my E-cas, the last update says ''medical results have been received'', so now im kinda worried because i checked the spreadsheet and some people apply around the same time as me and they got their PPR already, it has been 3 months of complete silence.
it this is ''normal''?
should i send them an email asking for some information, any update ?

i appreciate all your comments.
thanks.

Email them, but they don't always respond. You could order your GMCS notes to find out how far they've gone processing your file, but they take 30 days to arrive.

Perfect thanks, in that case I will translate them, I just didn't want anything to get sent back and I wasn't sure if it had to be an official notarized translation.

Dasher, we just got PPR a few weeks back and applied sept 15, so you aren't that far behind. Do send them an email though, maybe they screwed up... (Apparently that's a thing right now). JAMO has been waiting months as well with no response.

Fabibeach - congrats on finally getting somewhere!

Hi Dasher welcome to the bad luck club. As Tishness said, my wife and I sent in her PGR March 2nd. They got it via DHL the next day. Since then we haven't heard anything. I e-mailed them soon after we sent it and they acknowledged receiving it. But since then nothing. When I have sent other e-mails to them I get the format letter response stating that our application is in queue for processing bla bla bla. I tried calling CIC and was told they couldn't access information from another VO. CIC Mexico has no known phone number and the Canadian Embassy in Mexico told me that they also couldn't give any info. So unfortunately I don't think there is much anyone can do apart from waiting. The first time I ordered GCMS notes they didn't give me much help. I ordered some more about 2 weeks ago so they should be here in another 2 weeks. Hopefull they will show some movement on our file. I have heard a theory that CIC Mexico has temporarily stopped working on Mexican applications to work on the newly aquired Dominican Republic applications. I'm not sure if that's true but it could be the reason for the slow down. Anyway good luck

i appreciate all your comments.
thanks.

The thing I've learnt is not to pay attention to what is happening to other people's processing times unless you want to be in a constant state of disappointment and despair. We applied in May 2014 and are still waiting and we have a child I might add. The forum is very useful for many things and as a guide but the CIC process is unfair and difficult to understand, they definitely do not process in the order the application was received. Some people are lucky and get processed quickly, but the majority 80% or more of the files take the full 16 months. The amount of people who have applied through Mexico is not represented on this spreadsheet, a small amount actually join the spreadsheet, so as I said it's useful as a guide but it's not accurate as to what is really happening. There is nothing to do but wait as CIC does not respond to e-mails or questions about wait times, trust me I've tried getting info out of them. Good luck to everyone :)

Just a thought, all of you that have waited a very long time, JAMO, Dasher, Fabibeach, if you have notes since your file has been in Mexico, who is your Processing Officer? Or the initials on the bottom of correspondence emails? Maybe someone had you files and left and that is the reason for the delay in re-assigning? Again, just a thought. Mine is LG, I'll refrain from posting her full name, but perhaps you are all/were all assigned to the same person?
