So, even though nobody could tell us where our application was it seems it was in Mexico like it was supposed to have been as we got AOR 2 today.

Hi
So can someone help me undestand, do you normally get an AOR from mexico when they receive your file?

Has anyone sent the papers for police certificate before they were requested? Im outside Mexico.

Thanks!!!!!

I received AOR from Mexico after they did an initial review of our file two weeks after they received it from Mississauga. They sent request for the police certificate as well. According to my GCMS notes it took them a little less than a month from the time they forwarded the paperwork for the police certificate to the PGR to get the results back. I don't know whether they forward the paperwork to the PGR for processing if you do it early but it's worth a try - you could shave some time off the processing of your file.

So you have sent your PGR results to CIC? Have you heard back from them?

Thanks for explaining that! I will send the papers for PGR tomorrow, coulnt hurt.
As for the AOR sorry to ask, was it send to you email? Or to your address? Inside mexico or out?
Seems fast to me to get it 2 weeks after was sent so thats good news! Thanks everyone

I also got an AOR from Mexico VO. They sent me 3 letters: 1) AOR 2) Letter requesting me for more documents including PGR paper 3) Letter to bring to PGR requesting my police clearance to be done.

So what I think is that you can not request PGR to start working on your police certificate because you need a letter stating that it is the embassy of Canada who is requesting it. First thing you get asked in PGR is if you have that letter.

But that is when you ARE in Mexico, since you are outside Mexico I don´t know how this works in your case, but when you receive AOR you get specific instructions on how to obtain this paper.

Cheers.

We got SA on January 23 and are still waiting for AOR... I think they are taking about 2 months at the moment based on other peoples timelines I've been watching...

Once you get SA your application (as sponsor) is completed.
The person you are sponsoring will also get access to e-case with their contact info. Also, you should get a link to see that application from your e-cas (logging in as sponsor).

I assume you are referring to the Mexican Police Certificates (from the PGR). The instructions at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/mexico.asp used to have the address to send them to in Miguel Angel de Saavedra). They've removed the address (says Date Modified: 2015-02-23). You could try asking them where to mail to to with a case specific enquiry or simply send off the requirements as it is the VO address ... check your Sponsor Approval for the address (or search this thread). Note that for the photos I suggest you look at the specs directly at http://www.pgr.gob.mx/Servicios/Constancia/antecedentes%20registrales.asp as they are very specific.

The photo requirements you mail in with the application vary a bit depending on the Visa Office and are listed in each country specific instructions. For Mexico, you should be fine.

For the police certificate photos, see links I mentioned above.

Hello,

The address is

Embassy of Canada - Immigration Section
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra No. 193
Col. Granada
C. P. 11520
Mexico, D. F.

I totally agree, they removed the address from the CIC Police Certificates Website. But, here you can find the address too

May I ask when you got SA? I know you said you are ok about the same timeline as me so I want to get a feel for how far off we are.

Thanks!

My point was more long the lines of sending the Embassy a case specific enquiry to enquire would help ensure they'd still process the PGR before it is officially requested given the website changes.

That being said, mailing it off, hoping for the best, and being prepared to re-submit the request on the off-chance it becomes necessary to do so is also an option.

We got SA on Jan 21, so you should have AOR2 in the next couple of days :)

Hi everyone,

Our application is being dealt with by Paris but last month I received a request for a Mexican police certificate. I sent all the documents, photos and fingerprints to the Canadian embassy in Mexico City and today I received this email from Paris:

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your message.

At present, your request for a mexican Police certificate has been delayed as procedures to obtain such a certificate are under review.

We will contact you should be need additional information.

We are liaising with our office in Mexico.

Procedures to obtain such a certificate are under review? What does this mean? Have there been any changes to the procedure to get the informe de datos registrales or are they just bluffing?

Good Morning everyone!

I just wanted to let everyone know who is applying through the Mexico City VO that I have taken the liberty to clean up the Mexico spreadsheet so that it will be a more useful tool for us to compare processing times. I hope i am not stepping on anyone's toes.

The spreadsheet has been somewhat abused and neglected based on what I have seen, with a lot of missing data (i.e. no 2013 application data), which I suspect was accidentally deleted.

I will try to maintain the spreadsheet as much as possible when I have time.

Please go in and update your info as you receive updates to your application processing. If you make an error just use the "UNDO" arrow at the top left of the spreadsheet.

If you are not familiar with how to use the spreadsheet then just put your data in a post and I will enter it for you.

I have organized the spreadsheet by the date the original application was received by CIC. I also color coded a few of the applicants based on their current status within the spreadsheet. I will continue to work on it to make sure the formulas are working as intended.

Lorrein, if you are out there somewhere, could you please update your application information. Thank you!

Let's try to keep it up to date as much as possible so that it's a useful tool for all!

Best wishes to everyone for a successful and quick application!

Thanks for updating the spreadsheet JAMO1973! I organized and color coded your data.

I have moved some columns in the spreadsheet so that there is a more logical flow to the application process;

- Received AOR before SA Approval
- File transfer to consulate before VO AOR

I am correct some of the color coding in the legend and spreadsheet as well as a few descriptions. I have also added "LANDED"to the legend with its own color coding.

If you happen to notice an error in the spreadsheet please let me know and I will correct it.

Thanks!
