Has anyone sent like an updated package of pictures and stuff? Our application should be in Mexico but we have not yet received AOR. We have taken a couple more trips since we sent our application, he's met my extended family, etc. Would this be helpful? I feel like it'd save us the time of a possible interview. We don't even have his Client ID yet so I wouldn't know where to send them but I wanted to have it ready in case you guys have done it too or think it's a good idea.

As you haven't yet received a file number or UCI number, CIC will have no way to match your application with the new material you want to send them. Wait for them to respond first and see what they say or if they ask for additional proof.

You should be able to see the file number and application status (once started) in e-cas if you log in with your client ID as sponsor.

2 questions OhCanadiana. Did you apply outland through Mexico City and will we get called for an interview still even though they are asking for our pgr or does this mean we have passed that stage?

I'm asking because we are getting our pgr certificate in a day or 2 and the letter I received from CIC stated that all documents not in English or French MUST be translated. Thanks for the info

On the letter it states that it needs to be translated. I am not willing to risk and delay my application again in case i get a mean immigratin officer who only speaks english and decides he wants it as it says on the letter. Lol. Im too much of a scaredy cat, I will get it translated for sure.

That's what we're going to do also. If CIC doesn't need it or doesn't use it fine but it's better to cover all bases so they can't find any reason to delay or deny the application.

Not yet, I have mine as a sponsor but not his yet. His papers have only been at the VO for a little over a month and we haven't received anything from Mexico yet so we don't have his UCI

Is that something they do? Do they normally ask for further proof or do they just ask for an interview? It's just that we're not as lucky as some of the couples here who live with their spouse so there's less photographic evidence, and now there's a little bit more :). I'll probably just wait then.

Hey. I sent an update package without it being requested of me. Wait at least for your AOR so that you have the file number to reference. On the cover page make sure you reference applicants name, birthday, UCI and file number. If you want confirmation that it has been received then you must send it with tracking or by courier. If you send by regular mail you will just be hoping that it didn't get lost bc Mexico will not send you a message saying that they received your update package. I received my AOR in June and sent the update package the following november. You don't have to wait that long if you have lots of stuff to send though.

For us even though I sent the package they asked for an interview anyways. It was on Tuesday. They asked us to bring updated stuff to the interview. If you decide not to send an update package still continue to keep all of your 'evidence' so that you don't have to do so much work if they do ask you for an interview.

How did the interview go? Did you get approved for residency?

Ok thanks, I'll probably send it when we get AOR. How did the interview go?

Unfortunately, getting the PGR request letter doesn't mean they've assessed the relationship yet (plus, even if they had, they can always interview you up to the very end if any questions surface or for 'program integrity' reasons. The good news is that that means that the PGR doesn't really delay processing of your application too much because they do it in parallel instead of only once everything else is checked off.

I know. And the instructions say the same as well. All I can tell you is that applications I'm directly familiar with to the Mexico VO plus reports here in the forum suggest that for PGR police certificates a translation isn't needed (or requested). Makes sense too since the Embassy is in Mexico and they process all PGR police certificates.

Once his application is in the system, you should see it from within e-cas if you log in. In essence, the sponsor's log in is the 'master log-in' as you can see both sponsor and applicant status from there.

Too bad. I was under the impression from what people have posted that getting the PGR request and request to update 1 from meant that we were getting close. What were the steps for your case?
