Hi guys!

My wife (Canadian citizen by birth) and I (Mexican) sent an outland application for spousal sponsorship in May and my wife received sponsorship approval on August 1st. I am living with my wife in Canada as I am here on a study permit. Since I am living outside of Mexico, the Mexico City visa office will eventually ask for an "Informe de datos registrales" and I have to send the embassy my fingerprints so they can request the informe from PGR.

The CIC website states that will take 60 to 90 business days, so I'm wondering if I should get my fingerprints done now and send them to the embassy before the visa office requests the "Informe de datos registrales" to avoid that 3-month delay? Or should I wait until they request it?

Thanks!

Similar question. I am Canadian and my wife Mexican. We are living here in Mexico. I understand that we can't get the police check done up front? Is there anything we can do to speed up the process?

Hello

No you have to wait for a letter from the embassy. You then take that letter to get your police check.

Do you have to go to Mexico City for this?

Hi
Can you please help me and explain to me how you got the rcmp because we just a letter from the visa office requesting it for my husband and he is currently in mexico. Also where did you get the fingerprints done at?

Thank you

Hello there. I uses worldwide forensic fingerprinting services. They were cheaper and got results back in one week. Google them and give them a call they will explain everything to you. Good luck

No they will send you an email with a letter that you print out and take to your nearsest office.

Tweetybird did you just have the pgr request from cic?

Yes my husband just got the email last week. We are in Queretaro and we got it that same day. I think some places you have to go and pick it up the next day.

You have to pick up the request or the results? Do you have to get fingerprints also? We are in Villahermosa

Finger prints are not required. Main thing is you have to wait for the PGR letter from the embassy. They give you instructions as well.

Do you just go to the local police station? How long does it take to get the results back? Or have you not gotten that far yet? Thanks for the help!!!

Is the PGR police check the only one we ahev to get?

I have heard about the precartilla? is that required as well?

I think there is a different check if you are living in Canada and applying inland

I'm not sure. We applied outland.
