I don't think so. I as the sponsor was approved March 3, they then said they were sending the package to Mexico City Visa Office, and then two months later, on May 2 I received the AOR letter.

Oh ok so they do send out aor. That's all I wondered. I know that some VOs don't send aor, you only hear something if they need a document or they update ecas to in progress. But good to know I will at least have an aor from Mexico.

I sent my passport around the same time and still waiting as well. Did you send it with a courier company? You can check the waybill tracking number to see when it was received and if it has been sent. I used DHL but they didn´t exactly have a prepaid airway bill avaible here in Guatemala, so they asked me for contact info for the embassy and said they could do receiver paid pick up, hoping that it´s not going to cause me trouble, I don´t even know if they´ll be able to contact the embassy.

All is good. We sent the passport from El Salvador to Mexico on April 7. And it just came back today! Yippee!! Exactly one month. So don't worry yet. It will get to you soon I think. Perhaps semana Santa slowed things Down. :)

Thanks Cicconfused, good to know, crossing my fingers it´ll be here next week. Congratulations, and bon voyage!

You're welcome! Best of luck to you!

For all the ARC people...how did you pay it? I can't find a way to pay it online...

That´s great! Hope ours shows up today or tomorrow! Nothing on DHL tracking yet.

They should have sent you info on how to pay it. Here is the link we got:

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/mexico-mexique/visas/fees-frais.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

So ya need a money order or certified cheque. Check the link on what to make them out to based on what currency you will use. We used a money order from western union.

Also, I have a question. I checked our application status online and today it now says:

A decision has been made on your application. Our office will contact you about this decision.

Why does it not say what the decision is? Anyone know? Thanks.

Good news for us, the wheels are in motion, received the AOR on Friday with instructions on how to send a DHL pre-paid airway bill to the embassy so they can send us instructions on how to get the PGR. Seems a little odd but nonetheless glad things are getting going.

I had two detail questions that hopefully someone can help me with :)

1) My wife is in Mexico City and the embassy wants her to send them a pre-paid airway bill with her name, birthdate, file number... so does she go to DHL get this pre-paid airway bill, and then hand deliver it to the embassy, and do the people at DHL know how to do this?

Edit: I'm not too technologically advanced (to say the least) but if there is a way to do the DHL pre-paid airway bill through the internet that would be a priority, if possible.

Double edit: Could she just go into the embassy herself to pick up the letter that she needs in order to get the PGR?

2) The embassy is also requesting the payment for the right of permanent residence fee receipt which I need to pay. They want me to send an email with a copy of the receipt to two email addresses. Fine, no problem. But at the bottom of the letter it says "to avoid delays, please submit all requested documents at the same time" - this part confuses me, or I'm over complicating it. So if I pay for the PR fee right now, do I wait to email them until we get the PGR from the Police? Or how does that work exactly??

Thanks for any help :)

Anyone have an answer to my second question ^^ :)

Just wondering what people´s experiences have been like with landing; generally quick or a good idea to have at least a couple of hours set aside for it? I have a connecting flight and I´m worried I won´t make it if landing takes too long.

I did a search on this topic of 'pgr translation' because for me it is not clear if the pgr needs translation and the results are mixed. Some people have said it is necessary and some say it is not.

Has anyone who did not include a translation of the pgr been told by the embassy to get a translation or had no problem?

Hi! Today I received great news from the embassy as I got my passport request. Now, I knew that this step is part of the normal process for everyone but I don't know if I have to go through it. I've been living in Canada for a while and chose to issue my permanent residence in Mexico instead of Canada. I have a legal status in Canada and a multiple entry visa for the next couple of years. Do I still have to go through this process? Thanks a lot to everyone and I will post my timeline once the whole process is done. Good luck!

Has anyone been through the ARC or heard of anyone that did it without filling out papers? Just pay the fee? Please if ya know something, reply. Thanks
