Hey everyone, we sent in the ARC and they also asked us for a prepaid waybill with the ARC letter + Fee. Is this common? Why would they want a prepaid waybill at this point? Do they send the decision by physical mail? Did anyone get their Decision or PPR by physical mail or mostly email? Thanks!

Hi,

We got the exact same request. I think they send back an actual ARC, a document that has to be presented at the time of landing. We haven't gotten it back yet though, and we mailed it mid March. Intersting, we got approval of the visa and passport request 9 days later. So, we sent the PPT along with another pre-paid waybill. I hope both arrive soon!

I am curious to see what happens...

PASSPORT REQUEST!!!!!!! SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW ;D ;D ;D!!!! It took 14 months but it finally happened. Just wondering, they ask for confirmation of current mailing address, are they asking for proof or just verbal confirmation?

They only need that cuz they will send you the health card to your new house in Canada ! Good luck and congratulations !

I believe they do normally send you the PPR by actual mail rather than e-mail.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but from all of my reading on this forum I understood that all correspondence EXCEPT the PPR happens by e-mail if one is provided.

That's good to know!! I was so curious and starting to get worried because they haven't mailed anything back.

PPR was by email for us as well.

Wow clearly I was completely wrong. I swear I read sooooo many times that ppr was almost always sent by mail. But it's good news that Mexico sends it by email, saves me a lot of time being they'd have to send ours to Costa Rica.

ARC is an autorization to return to Canada becuse I lived there before so everyone who lived in Canada need an ARC :) actually my interview wasn't so bad lol I was all freaked out but it turn out great !

Really? I thought it was only for people who had been removed from Canada?

My wife was here five years ago before Mexicans needed visitor visas, and then she got visa extensions and then voluntarily left Canada before the final visa expired.

As of now we are in the process of applying for sponsorship, but I don't think we would need an ARC, would we? Maybe I had it wrong...

I had a question about the process of waiting. We applied in early February, I got approved as the sponsor March 3, and when I check my processing time on the CIC website it has no news of anything since then. They said they would mail the package from Mississagua to Mexico City, but do they let me know about this?

You are correct, it is only for people who are under a removal order. Your wife will be fine and will not need an ARC.

Hi there, my husband will be applying in the next month for permanent residence, but I am expecting our first child in August and will be delivering in Mexico. Does anyone know if we need to add our child to the application, or at least inform them, when he/she is born? I was born in Canada, so our child will also be canadian.

Your package should be on its way to Mexico VO, they should send you an email saying they got it and giving you instructions to get PGR certificate. It goes to the sponsored person email.

CIC website is not always updated
