Hello, Im new here in the Forum, Im from Panama. I sent my documents on March 3rd to Mississauga and we received email from CIC on March 27 saying the documents where sent to Mexico Embassy. I've been reading lots of comments here and I'm crossing my fingers for this to be process quickly like some people here.
My hubby live in Toronto but he is also Panamanian with Canadian citizenship. :D :D

Just a reminder to those waiting for passport to come back. The letter they send you to request your passport it says they will take 1 to 2 weeks to send it back in case you send the prepaid airway bill. In my case it took 2 weeks and a couple of days.

I haven´t got my passport back :/ It will be 2 weeks tomorrow !!!

Yes I am actually trying not to get my hopes up but I can see that recent timelines going through Mexico are going very quickly, 6 or 7 months I can see, but my husband has a medical problem that I expect will delay the ppr. Tuberculosis is a no no if you want into Canada. He will finish treatment in May but I believe we have to prove that he is clean for 6 months minimum, so I'm sure there will be a delay and that they will request remeds before the 1 year expiration.

Just got a request for re-meds, last time we checked they were still doing background check, wonder if this means they are done know? Just wondering what other people's experiences have been with wait times after redoing medicals?

Just to let you know. They asked for remedicals for my husband end of august 2013 and sept 28th 2013 they sent PPR. So hopefully will be fast for you too. Mind you when they asked for the medicals to be redone it was a friday and my husband got them done the following monday

Hello Everyone!! I am finding this forum soooo helpful!!

Anyways, I got married last week :D:D:D My husband is mexican and I am canadian. I am so happy and excited to be officially married to the most amazing man :)
I am now back in Canada and he is in Mexico... :(:(
So now we are going to begin the sponsorship process....I have a few questions if anyone could help that'd be great!!

-For the medical test, how long is it usually valid for? and how much does it cost? (he would be going to mexico city to get it done)
-Which police certificates do we need? I know that they ask for them later on in the process but I would like to have everything now and send it all at once...can I even do that? I think they need from PGR the constancia de antecedentes registrales and the SPP secretaria de Seguridad Publica certificate? Correct?? and how much do they cost??

Also, did anyone have any experience with having to send a FBI check? I printed the FBI fingerprint card from online and then my hubby got an ink pad and did it himself yesterday and mailed it by fedex over to me and then i will send it off to FBI....he couldnt find a professional fingerprint place.....I hope they accept it!

Anyone here from Puerto Vallarta, Bucerias area???

Thanks for your help. Best wishes to all of you :):):):)

I think I paid around 350.00 USD for my medical test in Mexico.

The PGR document ( Cosntancia de Actos Registrales ) was only 130.00 Mexican Pesos, around 10.00 USD. As far as I know that is the only document required as far police clearances from Mexico, and I had to wait till the very end to get that piece of paper, since the Embassy had to send me a letter so I could go to the PGR and ask for the certificate.

I went to a Mexican Police station to be finger-printed for the FBI paper, and it worked out well in the end, I did two sets of prints just in case. They did
the service for free, which was nice I guess.

All in all, from the date the Canadian Embassy in Mexico acknowledged receiving my application, it was only 4 months until I got my Passport
request, and now I'm just waiting for my passport to return so I can GTFO of here and be with my wife, if I get my passport in the next 2 weeks it will be less than 6 months waiting time.

Good luck with everything.

The medical exams are valid for an hour but the embassy can give you an extension :) I did mine on December 2012 and I got a year extension on them from the embassy !

For the PGR letter you need to wait till the embassy sends you a letter requesting it , I don't think you can get it before that /: but it's not that expesive it won't be over $20dollars !

Good luck !

P.s there is a forum in fb called MEXICAN SPOUSES , it's very helpful and you could get a lot of help in there too !
