Hi Friends of this Forum,

CIC requested the passpoart and my My wife sent her passport on March 14th and was received on March 15 at the embassy in Mexico. We sent the DHL prepaid airway letter. Is it normal that we still have not been able to track anything? It has been almost 3 weeks now..

Should this last more?

If you don't mind me asking, how did you guys receive the passport request from CIC? Do they send you an email and at the same time send a letter by regular mail?
And if may abuse your generosity, Did you guys have to go to an interview, and if you did..... how long after the interview did they ask for her passport?

I apologize for not answering your question ::)

For everyone: Are the medical exams checked near the end of the process? Or does it depend on when the agent decides to do it? Thanks

It seems like they are generally checked near the end either right before or right after the interview (if there is an interview). An interview usually is the last step before PPR.

How do you know this Visa will expire?? You should both phone and find out what's going on, and find out if it's possible for you to pick up your passport in person.

Everyone - I understand that no one wants to do anything that might increase their wait times, or make anyone at the office annoyed; however, you have the right to know what is happening with your file, especially if a particular step seems to be taking longer than normal. Call, e-mail, do something to try to get things moving again. Things may be moving slowly, or a letter could have gotten lost in the mail, or an agent could have forgotten to send you an e-mail. These are only humans handling our files, it's possible that they make mistakes or forget things. And I would say of all things after your get the PPR, a decision is already made, and when it is a document as important as your passport that's being put in the mail you absolutely have the right to call after two or three weeks of not hearing anything. Take initiative guys, this is our lives, we are forced into long distance relationships because of government policy and already are having to wait ridiculous lengths of time just to start our lives with our spouses....if something is taking longer than it is supposed to it's our right to inquire.

It just makes me so sad to see that people are actually afraid to make inquiries. Certainly don't be calling everyday but call when it's taking too long. Or e-mail.

Hello all,

We've sent our application in March 2013 (27th) so we've been waiting for 12 months now. Are others experiencing such long wait times?

Thanks!

Have you not received SA or AOR from Mexico?

For the form that requires a list of addresses for the past 10 years how do you write your current address if it asks from and then to. He has 3 addresses and the first and last one being his home address which he still lives at so what date should we put under the "to". Leave blank or write "present"

I had that problem for both the addresses and on my sponsor forms for my current employment. I filled in the year as 2014 and left the month blank.

Write "present." No problems. But really, do either way and its not wrong.

A word of advice...it seems as if Mexico city is asking people to include addresses & work/travel/personal history for longer than 10 years. Several of us have gotten requests to re-do the form and give all this information from the time the applicant is 18 years old (even if that is a 20 year period). You could save yourself some time if you just filled the form out back to 18 years old (assuming your husband is older than 28 :) )

Hi Friend,

We did not have an interview, we sent the PGR documents and received the request for passport 2 months later.

Thanks!

Oh no, I have. I've sent it the PGR request too (which they've asked for) but we're still waiting for PPR... The wait seems endless :(

Hopefully you'll get it soon, but you're still under the posted wait time of 16 months. Hopefully won't take another 4 months. Have you requested GCMS notes to see where they're at with your file? That might help you with the timeline.

Yeah we just got the passport request along with ARC payment request. But it is confusing, does this mean there will be no ARC package and letter to write? No interview yay! So yeah, medical stuff is done near or at the end of the process.
