Hello i have questions, to start off i would like to tell about my situation, I met my husband in 2010, he was here in canada as a refugee, but was turned down, we took off to montreal, and then he was later deported in July 2011, and in August 2011, i flew out to mexico to continue our relationship, i was living in mexico since 2011, and in that time frame we got married in October 2011, we had our first child in September 2012, then when i got pregnant with my second child, i returned to canada when i was 5 months pregnant, when i returned to Canada, i moved with my parents, i went on welfare since i was not planning to start my hsuband papers until after our daughter was born, and i called immigration and they said that is wouldnt effect me, and that i did not need to meet min. requirements to sponsor my husband, but i am being told other wise but others, i am now wanting to start my husband papers, i am not working since my daughter is 5 months and my son 18 months, and i am still on welfare tho i am getting off of it april 1st, and i was wondering if someone could tell me the honest truth if this is going to effect me or how exactly is it to sponsor a spouse??

a few questions i have is,

what is the min requirments?
and i was just wondering if someone could give me there email or facebook, that way i could talk to them when ever i have a question about the paper work, because i really do not understand it, and i want to get the papers done correctly. please and thank you

Hello I'm new here and I was wondering if someone could help me... My wife and I just received the email requesting the PGR thing.. I know I need to wait until I get the original letter to request it and then send it but I'm a little eager to know how long it will take after I complete this stage of the process since I miss her a lot :(. Is there a way to know this?. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have a question for you. Did you receive an actual letter mentionning that the interview was waved? How did you find out? Did you do your medical exam by emedical? Is it quit to receive the medical results?

I think you will get some news soon! Good luck

The medical a have to be done with Medicos Especializados Internacional their phone number is (5255)2624 0630, you just call, get an appointment and that's it. The day you get the meds done they send the results to the visa office in Mexico and you send the paper they give you with your aplication to Mississauga.

I found out my interview was waived cause I got an email telling me the visa was ready and that I should submit my passport.

The Panel Physician actually sends the medical exam results to a Regional Medical Office (e.g., Ottawa). The RMO assesses the results (documents, lab results, x-rays) and takes the admissibility decision. That decision gets added to your medical record (in a manual process once the visa office reaches out to get the results from the RMO). This process is transparent to the applicant, though. All the applicant needs to be concerned with is to get the confirmation paper from the physician and include it with the application.

Ohh wow mine has been in there a week and I'm going insane already. I am sure it won't take a month. Gl!!

Mine took 2 weeks and a half to be back from the day they got it, a girl I know got her husband's passport three weeks and a half after she sent it.

However if you don't here from them by monday or thursday write them asking what's going on with you passport.

Just stumbled upon this forum and thought I'd ask a couple of questions for the lucky people that have been
through their PR immigration process.

Mainly out of curiosity of the recent waiting times related to the whole process, I will try to explain my situation and how
far along we are on this:

11/27/2014 Canadian Embassy acknowledges receiving our application.

01/29/2014 I get a 'nasty' letter telling me I'm a dummy and I need to resend one form because of a mistake, they
also advice me to send a prepaid courier guide so I can receive their letter to apply for the PGR document.

02/06/2014 I receive another letter for an interview in Mexico City for 02/27.

02/27/2014 Me and my wife show up and I have my interview, I asked to have it in English and they obliged, it lasted about 35 minutes
and the nice young lady apparently was happy with my answers and then said that I meet the requirements for the sponsorship,
she said I would hear back from them in about 2 weeks. By then I submitted the 'corrected' missing form personally, so far so good.
On 03/02/14 I sent the PGR document and it's received a couple of days later.

03/06/2014 My wife is still visiting with me in Mexico, we are having a lazy morning and then I receive an email to notify me that the form I
submitted personally HAS ANOTHER MISTAKE!!!!!!! ( what the hell was I thinking) , anyway we get of our arses and reprint the form making sure
there are no mistakes this time, we sent the form express courier the same day and they receive it a day later.

After that date it's the last I have heard from immigration, so all in it's been only 4 months and right now I'm really curious of how long
do you guys think I will have to wait to hear back from them, I know it hasn't been that long but the anxiety is getting to me and my wife every
now and then. Some days I feel like asking for a travel VISA to meet my wife but I doubt that they would approve it since my PR application is
being processed.

Any advice on what might happen next for me and my wife?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yay!!!! Congratulations!

I see in your timeline that it took about a month for the ARC! That makes me happy. We just mailed ours Wednesday.

Keep us posted how it's going!

Geeee, I'm a complete noob at this......

So looking at all the dates next to your user names, my uneducated guess is that maybe I'll be "landing" in Canada in about 4 months?

Did you really finish your interview and everything only 4 months after Mexico received your application? That seems incredibly fast. Sounds like you will be in Canada this summer. I would guess that the next step is the Passport request. Lucky duck! I am happy for you!

Yes, that's how fast it happened. I guess what threw me off is that the lady that interviewed me said that I would hear back from them in 2 weeks, I'm sure she meant
2 MONTHS but got confused. I'm hoping for the best, I can't wait to be with my wife, it's been too damn long without her.
