HI Everybody, My wife has been asked to provide the Police Certificate from PGR (Datos Registrales), The Canadian Embassy in Mexico sent her an email requesting this but they informed that they will send her an official letter from their office that was sent already by mail. This letter has not been received yet, then, we decided to send a prepaid airway mail in order to have their official letter. They received this one week ago, does someone know how much time it approximately takes for the embassy to generate this official letter and send it through once they received the prepaid airway bill?

Thanks!
Hello
If you sent the prepaid airway this week it should take about two weeks. But, how long did you wait from receiving the email to send the prepaid airway?

Hi Cmartin and FooF,

My wife sent the prepaid airway letter one week ago, then I suspect this will take 2 to 3 weeks more, I appreciate your help, we will be attentive.

Hello everyone,
anyone here have an FBI certificate requested by the visa office, if so, did you send it in its sealed envelope or did you open it before sending it?

Hi Guanada, I had an official answer from the embassy regarding the request of the FBI certificate. This is required to persons who lived more than 6 months in the US or live in a Border City. For the case of the people living in the Border City is because they commute regularly.

Thanks!

Hi FooF,

Thanks for your answer, They requested an update for the most recent address information and the police certificates of USA and Mexico. We sent the prepaid airway bill to win some time..

The good news is that the FBI certificate is taking now 6 weeks rather than 14 weeks, they are some improvements in their process.. For the police certificate from Mexico "Datos Registrales" we are waiting for the official letter and once we receive it it will take 10 working days.

I will keep you posted and thanks all for sharing the best practices.

Hey everyone. Looks like they updated the forms since my husband and I filled them out in Sept. Do you recommend I redo them? I don't think there is a difference really but the forms have the date on the bottem of the page when it was updated. What a pain.

Hi, I suggest that you used those that are updated. There is a risk that they will return your application. Remember that some forms generate a code when they are validated and they have been many versions and many updates....

Oh my goodness! That is terrible!!! Shame of those corrupt consultants. I am sure there must be some good ones out there, but really!

From reading through this forum, it seems as if the ARC is taking people 2-4 months through Mexico City. Hopefully my estimate is right! I have mentally added that much time...I would hate for it to be longer!

I am not sure if ecas changes at the PGR stage, my husband is not from Mexico and we don't have to do that step.

Yeah it is really a shame that people like that can come to Canada, setup an office and call themselves consultants and charge crazy money as if they were a lawyer, and then flee back home when the heat starts getting hot.

Hopefully the ARC does not take too long.

Have you received the ARC request yet?
