Hi guys has anyone hear anything about permant rescindecy being denied ??

Hi People,

Have you been aware of the delays due to the manifestations of FAPSO this summer 2013? how slow have sponsor applications have been affected for this?

I submitted my application in September 22nd and I obtained an answer on October 10 that I was eligible to Sponsor my wife. Her papers were transferred and after some weeks I contacted the Mexican CIC office. They answered :

"Please note that due to the Professional Association of Foreign Services Officers taking strike action during the summer, all processing issues have been delayed and it is not currently possible for us to give you an approximate time frame for reviewing your application."

Does anybody knows how will this affect?

Thanks!

It's been slow, but they're working on cases. There been cases that took 8 months to be finished and others still on after a year. Just to give an idea the processing time changed from 13 to 14 during the strike. How fast cases get processed depends of the complexity of each one.

If her papers where sent to Mexico in October, they'll contact you approx 3 months after this, that's what happend to me but other people who apply close to us still waitin for news.

As I was adviced before wait 3months and if you have any news contact them. I know it sucks but CIC won't provide you any info since you are between the timeline

Hey everyone, my wife is coming to Canada!!!! Today she just received her passport back in the mail with visa and other documents for her landing. So exciting!! Good luck to all :)

"The file is currently under review.
The security verifications are being done right now.
No additional information is required from applicant right now. We will contact him as soon as the application is completed or if information is needed."

This is a reply my husband and I received and I just wanted to know how much longer we will have to wait? and what might be next?

For me it sounds like they're in the final review of your application. When did you apply? Good luck I hope you have news soon :)

Just reporting that 2 weeks ago my husband received his residency. He flew to Mexico City to have the visa affixed to his passport and is now ready to land in Canada. This application took 11 months. We're grateful to have it over with.

Question: do new residents have to land at the city specified or can they enter via another city?

Yeah they can have a flight that stops in a different city, they make the landing (immigration) process in the first Canadian board they reached (in this case the airport) and then keep going to their destination.

I've never been in Canada, but you can find more info in this thread and in the forum too about this subject.

Congrats!!!

Hey guys I have a situation here

Me and my gf who is now my fiancée been dating for a year and couple weeks, my visa expires january 5 so I booked a planet back to Mexico on jan 1. We want to get married before I leave but we are concern that immigration is going to think this is a scam when our relationship is legit. We have pictures in our phones and computer but I dunno if they will accept printed versions of these ones. What do you people suggest? She doesn't want to go to Mexico due to her job and since I am already here we prefer to get married before my visa expires, then I go back and start collection all the information in order to apply.

Help!

Help!

Getting married so soon before your visa expired might create some red flags for the VO. You will have to make sure you have a lot of good, quality relationship evidence. And the best is to have your wedding attended by the most important people in your lives (i.e. parents, extended family, friends). It doesn't have to be fancy, or large, just meaningful. With lots of photos, both of the wedding and of your relationship developing.
