Has anyone gotten an AOR recently? It seem like they´re only working on applications already in process, it´s been 4 months and still no AOR, so I´m guessing they´re not working on any new applications. :(

I just found out from MP today that I have to go in for an interview , you should contact your MP they could give you moré info than the embassy /:

Frida, sorry to hear about the interview request and best of luck.

We received our AOR in June, dated June 3. Not exactly recently. Hence the question - are they using the original date as the order for looking at files or are they going by the date of the AOR? Does anyone know?

Actually we tried that, but all we were told by our MP was that the application was moving along as it should, that we were through first stage approval (which incited a kind of duh! reaction from me) and that current processing time for Mexico was 14 months. Nothing we couldn't find out from CIC website.

We were still left wondering if our file was successfully transferred and whether we're even in queue.

I guess I should just send a personal inquiry.

Send a inquiry. The same thing happened to us and since everyone always said just wait for them to contact you it was taking too long. And when i finally sent an inquiry to mexico they never received our app. So our app was sitting around for 3 months. And if i hadnt asked it would be of been sitting in mississauga for god knows how long

Bad news today, husband and I travelled to San Jose today because we have a medical exam scheduled for wednesday morning. We arrived at 1:30pm. At 5pm we get a phone call from the Doctors office that they are cancelling our appointment and suggesting that we call the other office to see if they can get us in. We call the other office and the secretary says we have to call back after 10am tomorrow morning. Omg you guys this sucksssssss! Just to be clear, I made that appointment about 3 weeks ago and there are only 2 doctors that qualify to give this medical exam in the entire of Costa Rica. If this other one can't get us in this week we will have to go and come back........... SO. MUCH. MONEY. WASTED. ANGRYYYYY.

I think it can be good actually, I'm sure you have also read that actually after the interview you get some sort of verbal indication from the officer who conducts it about how it went for you.

This might be a little bit over the line, but based on what I'm sure you have read here on why they request interviews, do you think there is anything on your case that might have caused them to request it?

If Ecas shows "app received", does that mean MX received it? Or does it have to say "app in progress"? Did
yours ever change?

Dont go by ecas. It is really unreliable. And as far as i can remember on my husbands part it said application received even when they sent us the aor from mexico. It changed to in progress two months after the aor. And the application received was from when they received it in Mississauga because the date on it was the date i sent the whole app initially to mississauga

Hmm which doctor did you go to? My husband has been to one twice and he sai he was amazing there was never an issue with anything. They were neer done same day the blood work he always needed to wait for the next day but everything else was prompt. One thing i know he did was he would wait for the xray and vlood work and bring it back to the panel physician to speed it up. Cause it could take longer if you depend on the lab to deliver the results back to the physican. And hopefully youre not as far as my husband is from san jose. He is literally sick of the 7 hr bus rides( one way).

We have had two lawyers and honestly I can't say that they have been very useful. If someone had guidance from successful applicants, and paid close attention to the CIC instructions, they would likely do a lot better, for less, than with a lawyer.

That said, I'm interested in knowing from any of you just what you feel your lawyer did for you.

We have had one who missed dates (like responding on time after the interview in spite of our prodding) and another who said lawyers can't be seen to be influencing when asked for advice - and in the end, we had to do all the paperwork ourselves anyway.

To me, lawyers who accept cases should be able to predict whether or not you are likely to hit serious hurdles and help avoid them, but from my experience they don't do that. What have been your experiences? Do you all have lawyers/Canadian lawyers or have any of you used Mexican lawyers? Are there lawyers who specialize in Mexican cases and do they have a good track record?

I sent a CSE to Mexico City this morning and it took them 44 minutes to get back to me. Looks like someone is working today.
I just want to know that they have our file even if they're not looking at it yet. They say they don't have it but, CIC says they sent it August 26 and it still says "in transit". Why would it take this long to get there? I'm worried because I don't know if it's sitting in a pile or if it's been lost in transit. How do I find out? Ugh.
