I just wanted to know if their are any updates on the strike? Probably now but it is sooooo frustrating. Another week of our lives going by.

Enjoy your weekend!

Just wanted to know how much detail applicants put in some of the areas on the application for instance, describe how your relationship developed. Did people write essays or just put enough to fill the box?

we wrote like a paragraph or two on a separate sheet of paper.
not super detailed but more details than what fits in the box.

Thanks Lisa! I think I may have wrote more than him but i guess his application needs to be in his own words

Hey everyone ,

I have a question for landing , they havent ask me for my passport yet or anything like that but I want to know about this .. Ok so once u land can u start working as soon as u find a job or do we have to wait to get a work permit or something ???

Thank u :)

Hi Frida19, you should be able to get Social Insurance Number with your landing confirmation letter. After that you can start working with the new SIN number. You don't have to wait PR card!

Hello everyone:

I am a Colombian/EU PR (Permanent Resident) living abroad with my wife, a Canadian/EU citizen. Our application is under Spousal Sponsorship.

I had applied in the past for the Canadian refugee system from 2007 until 2011, but it was rejected.

We are a little confused about the requirement from the VO: •Copy of PIF, Personal Information form and narrative. This must be received at this office by: 09/12/2013

And this is our timeline: IN PROCESS

1.We received your application for permanent residence on March 4, 2013.

2.We started processing your application on July 8, 2013.

3.Medical results have been received

Thanks again,

Cbn Cdn

Here is some news that sounds good (I think) :)

Hi Frida19! When you arrive in Canada, you need to visit a Service Canada office in your area. Since you are landing as a PR, all you need to bring your passport and/or any additional documents they give you at Port of Entry so they can verify your status. It is a very easy process and after they fill out the necessary information, they will give you a temporary copy of your SIN while you wait for the actual card in the mail. With this photocopy you are free to look for work! :)

Hello everyone ,

I got an email from the embassy requesting info I already send , I just think this are good news cuz it seems like they are working on applications !!

What did they ask you for??

BTW... so far it seems like we have had the same timeline. Both waiting for either the ARC process or passport request, right?

We have been waiting about a month for whatever comes next. Feeling worn out from all the waiting and uncertainty. I really hope we both go forward with as few additional steps as possible. And we're with our hubbies before it gets cold here again. =(

I think we both have 1-2 months to go. That's if there are no surprises and they work fast. =)

Hi all!
I received my SA on August 16. How long do you think I should wait before sending the prepaid waybill to the embassy for the PGR request?
Can I send it right away? I just don't want it getting misplaced before our application gets there.

I think you should send it next week.
Give them about a week to receive the file.
