Well they should consider this when it comes to the validity of some documents like the medicals, of course their not going to do it. You are right they charging money for this and our spouses pay their taxes. The Canadian government doesn't care at all if there are people that spend time away from their beloved ones. The whole process shouldn't be that complicated, and now the same government it's make it worse and worse. :'( :-\

I agree with you , they don't care if we have money or not ... I know they are very upsetting I never once thought a process like this while take such a long time to get it over it ! Well let's hope they fix this soon nd we are done wit this process this year :'(

It all depends what else the mp has to deal with. Mine is pretty busy he has to do a100000 things. But thank God that i contacted him because he has been our angel thru this process he helps us out so much. Yeah i really hope this is all done soon and you all reunite with your loved ones especially the ones with kids in the mix like myself. I dont want my husband to miss another day.

Update for everyone , we got an email from VO today so I don't think they are on strike .

So I am getting so frustrated :( immigration requested more documents and we sent them May 13 but apparently they still not have arrived there yet we called USPS and they told us it arrived on the 21 of may... I has e no idea what we can do. I have been emailing immigration throughout this whole ordeal and they have responded within a week but I don't know what to do while our papers are in limbo. And this whole thing about the strike is driving me insane...
I also wanted to know how they prioritize the files. We have two you g children and I am a student at UBC. Does this have priority over others? They have made me a single mother for 3 years now, 3 year due to false info by the way, they told us because my husband was deported that we couldn't apply for 2 years.... And then the El Salvador embassy in vancouver gave us faulty information on how we have to gather documents.... I am so tired of waiting :(
Please anyone with information let me know what I can do ...

Did you send the embassy a piece of paper or the print screen of the tracking number to prove to them that it did arrive on may 21 and as signed for?

Also there is no prioritizing for family class, we are all in the same boat regardless of if we have children or not etc. unfortunately.

Chances are if usps said your papers were deliverd and had been signed for by oswaldo(hes usually the guy signing for all packages coming into the embassy) than they most likely lost your documents and are in a mad scramble to find them while making it seem like your fault.

Its happened before, they have lost documents and tell you that you never sent it, or they never received it, than you get proof it was delivered and a couple weeks later all of a sudden they find the documents. really frustrating but ive seen it happen a few times.

I think if ur husband is living in Mexico atm the best thing might be to go to the embassy himself so that he can show him the paper from UPS ...

Same thing here last week sent rcmp cert by dhl arrived monday and signed of my oswaldo. Wednesday basy emailed saying we should send the rcmp stuff in!!!! And i replied telling them i did and it arrived monday and today the emailed me back asking for the tracking number an what address i sent it to so they can find it. Like wtf!!!!!

Keep in mind:

- CIC said a bare minimum level of service would be maintained during the strike. They're probably sending in highly paid consultants to keep the lights on. (This is ironic because the unionized workers want better pay.)

- The strike action is rotating from different embassies and consulates. We don't have a live master list of what's currently on strike, so a news release from a few days ago doesn't necessarily mean the services are still on strike. The journalist who wrote the story may not have reliable information either and the majority of readers don't know enough about what's going on to call them on it.

- Stephen Harper is a control freak. He's not going to let this go on for long. In the past he probably would have strong-armed the union into going back to work. Because there is so much controversy around him and the people around him right now, he might cave in and give them what they want.

Hey folks - where do we go to get the PGR police certificate? I thought you had to do this at the PGR office in Mexico City but my husband is confused because the website says if you live outside Mexico City you apply for the federal certificate at your state office...

Where do we go?

Nevermind - figured it out. He can get it at the state office. Thanks =)
