My common-law husband and I also resided in Cancun, but now we are in Canada waiting out his PR visa! Just to let you know, there is a PGR office in Cancun, they should be sending it soon to you so you wont have to travel very far for it. My mother-in-law also told us that they are not very busy and very nice at the office! So it shouldn't take too much time on your day off

Just be sure to call ahead and ask what requirements they need. When we called they said they wanted passport size photos but on the PGR site they say they want the oval shape, people have been turned back because of stuff like that so its always good to call ahead. Also, make sure your bf has his precartilla and/or cartilla liberada or else they wont do a PGR check on him!
