Hello everyone, I am new here and I have a question, I hope you can help me. I live in Montreal and am sponsoring my wife who lives in Mexico. We are applying through Mexico City. Where am I supposed to pay the fees? I understand that the sponsorship application is processed here in Canada and then the file is sent to Mexico City for the permanent residence to be processed. Am I right? If I want to pay for both the sponsorpship application and the right of permanent residence at once online am I able to do it? Or does the right of permanent residence need to be paid in Mexico (considering it will be processed there)? I am very confused. I would appreciate your help :) Thank you!

Hi moz, and welcome!!

You're right the sponsorship is processed in Mississauga and then the application goes to Mexico City. However, I believe there's an extra step for residents of QC another member familiar with that step will let you know. You can pay the permanent residence fee at the same time you pay the application fee online good luck with the process!!

Hi, tsjunx! :) Thank you so much for answering, I've read about the extra step and I need to get approval from Canada first to then send my application to QC.

Thanks a lot for clarifying the permanent residence fee issue, I will go ahead and make an online payment.

Good luck to you too! :)

Have any of you requested the notes, if so how do you go about it, and also, were they detailed or give much information? What kinds of things do they document in them? Thanks!

Hi! We recently received sponsorship approval and our file is on its way to Mexico (not Guatemala as we'd thought). I've been reading a bit on here and looking at the spreadsheets, it seems like Mexico is relatively quick (compared to Guatemala at least!). I truly hope all of the Guatemala influx doesn't slow things down over there. : ) Cheers

Hi, I just read your post and imagine that you finally will have your loved one. Congatulations! I see you are in Ab. Are you in Edmonton?
Is there anyway I can ask you some questions? Can you email me if I give you my email? I need to get my wife here and all of this is sooo confusing. Thank you!

Frank

Your day is coming soon Edgar, I feel it. Hold on my friend!!

I have a question and if any one can answer it, please chime in....My husband's niece wants to apply under the skilled worker program. She should have enough point, but the only thing is that her son(2 years old) was born with a partially formed heart. He has had several heart surgeries. He will have his final one in a month or so. Will this preclude him from being accepted into Canada? She and her husband are in perfect health.
