Its interesting to note that COPR document has special program tagged as "OSI". This is something new. Could be possible that any applications before Dec 7 are tagged under this. Normally, I have seen this for refugee applications. Like UPX for Urgent protection program or FCS - Project focus Afghanistan.
What OSI stands for?

Don't have a clue about it. Although I see that COPR issued in last month for others have OSI written in it. Should be some govt code for classifying our apps.

HOLA :)

Hi , Me and my wife are starting our sponsorship she is Canadian citizen and I am Mexican and we are applying outland. We got married in Canada last summer .

Could you help me with some doubts please?

1 When filling the application IMM0008ENU in contact information

part 1 current mailing address .
Do I Have to write down my MExican address or my wife´s in Canada?

2 National identity document
Is that the CURP or IFE? or just with my passport?
If its the CURP that need to get translated as well? ( I got my birth certificate translated and certified thats why I´m asking

3 When they ask you to get the police check..
They send a letter or something ?
I have my precartilla militar no liberada cause I never finished my military service will that be enough? according with the PGR website it is but I would like to know if someone knows something about that. I have read that this part is the most annoying and difficult part of the process

Thanks and I will appreciate if someone could help me thanks.

Where do you live?

If you are living in Canada then it doesn't make sense to give a Mexican address... the same goes for living in Mexico and giving a Canadian address.

They are asking for the number, not for documents. If they ask for a copy of the document then you will have to translate it.

Passport, CURP or IFE (INE) are fine.

They will request it down the process.

What PGR says is good or not is irrelevant. Stick to what CIC website says. A pre-cartilla has no value in this process.

Does anyone have suggestions on cargo based on your experience? My wife has probably 100-150 kgs of goods that need to be transferred from Mexico to BC.

Got my GCMS notes today. Applied GCMS notes on Dec 30.
Application Eligibility reviewed and approved on Dec 31.
Criminality approved on Jan 6 2017, the day i got my PPR.
Interestingly they printed the GCMS notes on Jan 11.

In my case, ordering GCMS notes helped in speeding up things.

Eligibility due date was 2017 July 19, one year from the time the file got transferred to Mexico Embassy ( the day when sponsorship was approved ).
The next application review date was on Feb 4th. Technically eligibility will be done on this date if they have all other info.

Okay thanks for this! Good to know. Hopefully bellatopazio and I will here something after February 4th if that's the BFD. I've also ordered my notes last week, hope to get them soon. That final eligibility review date freaks me out. 1 year since SA approval so that would be July 19th for me! I hope it doesn't take that long.

Hey guys!

So, hubby and I were just juggling around some ideas and I thought I'd get your input, for those of you who have been through this process before!

So we submitted our application on September 26th 2016. Looking at the trend for Mexico City VO we are not expecting PPR until at least July 2017. My husband (from Guatemala) already has a TRV (multiple entry) valid until 2018. We were thinking of "moving " to Canada in June. Our thought process is that it would give us time to find an apartment and get settled in before the PPR came in and we actually have to start working. I have been living with him down here for over 2 years and have zero possessions back in Canada, so we need to furnish a new place from scratch. Which should be fun (I think) haha.

Any major flaws in our plan? I know that there always the issue of being denied entry to Canada for him, but he's visited a couple of times on his visa and we've never had an issue.

WE GOT PPR just now! You can see my timeline...

Don't know if it triggered something, but we asked for our GSMC notes yesterday, and got our PPR today...

Good luck to everyone!

My partner, the Sponsored, got a call from the Embassy in Mexico. The officer wanted to know if we got the email they sent and asked if we could send them the papers/photos within 10 days. They said they had to speed up the process due to the medicals expiring in the beginning of March.

I just asked my lawyer if I could order my GCMS notes and she told me it will cost $850, but because I'm a client she will only charge me $500!

That's wonderful. Guess we'll have to pass on them.
$500 for a few minutes of work to fill out a form? Not bad.
How much did they charge you to represent you in total?

I know. I regret taking the lawyer route now. A little over $6000
