it could be a couple more months before he gets asked for the ARC, the arc will be the very last thing they ask for,CryssyM said:Hello again,
we finally received an AOR May 1st and they told us 6 months, the day we received an email requesting more documents and we have just got them back from translation and authentication. we will be sending them tomorrow through DHL or UPS (Ive seen that many of you have used these companies when sending mail...) and so my question is how long after receiving these documents do we have to wait?
My hope, and i pray everyday that my husband get to travel with us, my children and I once we leave to canada. I think our case is strong, we have 2 children and this is our 5th time visiting him. I know we will probably have to pay the ARC because my husband was deported from canada but i am wondering when they will ask for it, and how long do you think that takes? we have already paid the resident fee and now we are just waiting to hear from them. do they ask for more documents more than once? I am wondering if it would be ok to send more pictures with what they asked for or just leave it and wait?
lastly are we close?
thank you for your help,
cryssy
he was deported because he didnt leave when they asked him to, I was pregnant with my first child and asked him to stay. I honestly didnt think that they would deport him.....LeisaP said:it could be a couple more months before he gets asked for the ARC, the arc will be the very last thing they ask for,
and it it is straight forward and simple, and he was never in any trouble in canada such as arrested, or charged with anything. the arc usually takes about 2 months to process.
was he a failed refugee?
o okay.CryssyM said:he was deported because he didnt leave when they asked him to, I was pregnant with my first child and asked him to stay. I honestly didnt think that they would deport him.....
and yes he was a failed refugee, does this make a difference?
Yes he was arrested and was sent back to his country, but this was in 2010. We dont mind all the questions as long as we also get information through itLeisaP said:o okay.
so he was a failed refugee, was asked to leave but didnt.
when he was deported did they arrest him or anything?
im just asking cuz i have a friend with a very similar case, and they are now landed back in canada
OKay, yeah so it was the exact same as her case.CryssyM said:Yes he was arrested and was sent back to his country, but this was in 2010. We dont mind all the questions as long as we also get information through it
how long did you friend wait

well the embassy will ask u for an rcmp clearance, because his fingerprints would have been taken when he was arrested, so they will need that to clear his name. so you should consider getting it soon, as it takes 3 months. unless you want to use the same company we did, it takes only about 2 weeks but it costs about $300 or so to get it expediated, i can send u info in a private message if u want to know more about them.
but after that they were asked for the arc and it was about 4 months i believe to approve, probably because there was the extra fees that will need to be repaid from the deportation and such it took a bit longer than an arc with no arrest.
Ya, either way he would have gotten his prints taken.CryssyM said:ok, he wasnt arrested by the rcmp. he was arrested by immigration. I dnt know if this makes a difference?
and yes please send me a message about the rcmp clearance, we want to get things done as fast as possible
My husband said we should wait for them to ask for it, but i am getting so impatient and i want to do it now so we dont have to wait so long.LeisaP said:Ya, either way he would have gotten his prints taken.
U should ask him if he had his fingerprints taken when he got arrested andd than u will know for sure if u need the rcmp. Ok i will send u a message about it
You can wait for it if u want. And than do the expediated check, that ill email u about, i just gotta find the info on it.CryssyM said:My husband said we should wait for them to ask for it, but i am getting so impatient and i want to do it now so we dont have to wait so long.
is there a chance we dont have to do it?

It doesn't say anywhere that you must have "celebrations" after the wedding in order to prove the relationship is genuine.scrls5 said:Hola! I'm preparing my application but I'm in that paranoid phase , you know how it is. Would appreciate your opinion folks:
My worry in my case is that I'm mexican but living in the US(work), we met while I was in Canada (short term student) & after I returned we had a long distance for 2 years with 5 visits from her to me (2 when i was in mex and 3 when I relocated here in the US). We decided to get married, but we had to balance the following:
1) We both wanted to get married in Las Vegas (like in the movies hehehe)
2) Our loved ones were having a extremely difficult time scheduling time off their work to attend, or to gather the money to attend, or didnt even had a passport
3) We believe that a marriage is a celebration! and when our loved ones are having a hard time just to attend, its not cool.
So we decided to go and get married by ourselves with no family or friends at the ceremony. I went after the wedding to canada on a TRV to have a 'celebration' with her loved ones, it was a dinner.
And by the end of this year, we will travel to mexico so we can now have the 'celebration' with my loved ones in mexico. (I want to submit the application before that)\
That way we balance what is important to us
I'm afraid the fact that we got married by ourselves may cause the office to think the relationship is not genuine, opinions?
Thanks guys
