We started processing _________________application on January 15, 2013.

during the first portion (sponsorship) I received the same message and then within 5 days it was approved...I'm trying to find if there is any correlation with the two? as I have mentioned a few times, we submitted the police reports on December 27th...and then last week got this message about them starting to process...I guess I'm asking someone...anyone...not just the generic andser but specifically how long after they got this message did they hear from the Embassy again?

from my experience, they updated my status to 'in process' on Nov 15, oh!, and they already requested my police clearances since almost 1 month ago before they updated my status, BUT, it wasn't until Dec 10 that I dropped off the police clearances, and UNTIL January 3rd I got the PPR............then until Jan 7 I got my passport with the visa so, aprox 2 days after they changed my Ecas to 'Decision Made' and so far I'm still in Mexico so my Ecas still continues being like that...

So it was 2 months to get the ARC and 6 weeks+ of waiting after you sent it?

Well in my case it took 13 weeks before they requested the ARC and now its been 6 weeks since we sent in the ARC..no word yet
But we also got asked for the RCMP which I think caused the 13 week delay

I think the delay was definatly because of the RCMP

Because we sent in our ARC on october 19 and got asked for the RCMP end of november.
The embassy has had our RCMP for 6 weeks now and still no word, I emailed them and they sent back a generic answer saying if u sent documents they will be added to your, fail if we need more from you we will contact you... thats it.
So i think the RCMP is causing a delay for us too!
They gave us 90 days to hand in the rcmp so the "due date" would be feb 20, I have a feeling they wont look at our file untill feb 20.

Although im sure the arc would be done by now if they didnt ask us for the rcmp.

Yeah!,
We got them about 2 weeks after we ordered them,
so we sent them the same time as the RCMP on dec 17

We have a small update! Our ecas changed to "In Process"!! Not sure anyone really knows how significant this is but I thought i'd share...

Hey Mozz, our AOR took 3 full months. If I were you, I probably wouldn't order the notes just yet... as you say they probably won't tell you what you want to know.

Around the 3 month mark we sent a case-specific inquiry and then got the AOR a week later.... you could try the same, or just wait it out.

No i doubt it, because his RCMP is clean. He's never had anything on it, so it shouldnt be, and his PGR and SSP are both clean too.

Good news - the BF date (bring forward date) only matters if you don't send anything in. It's used to force a follow-up review/action if nothing else triggers it. Given that you've mailed them items, it becomes irrelevant and they just take action based on the documents you sent.

If they asked for his fingerprints so they can do the RCMP check (vs. for the RCMP check itself already done) they are likely trying to disambiguate his name in the database.

So maybe our file is just on the bottom of the pile now or something, thats why its taking a bit longer.

anyways yeah i figure they just need to be sure he has nothing on his record, because when we got the RCMP clearance back it said there was a match with his fingerprints because at one point he got them taken, but he was never charged for anything so the record is clean.

I think it was the same with Chulada, because her husband had his fingerprints taken but never charged for anything, so they requested his RCMP and it ended up saying the same thing as ours

Sounds like they found his name/DOB in the system (makes sense from what you said since they would have it from when they took his prints) which would have caused a deeper security and criminality check, including the RCMP check they asked you for to assess his eligibility.

Yeah,
we got the RCMP done and sent it to them dec 17.
so now we shall just keep waiting.
