On Oct.10th we received our AOR from Mexico City. It asked for us to provide additional common law proof. Specifically they wanted Utility bills in both of our names. We only had a joint bank account with statements in our names though as well as a bunch of mail addressed to us both at this address. I explained this in a few emails back and forth and asked them what else we could provide as we didn't have water and electricity specifically, they then requested the interview in an email on Oct.26th. (We had been communicating back and forth though probably since Oct.17th or so.Sylvana said:They asked for ours after the police certificate check request.
Goodluck!
Hi, Do you remember how long after they got the Police clearances they asked you for the interview??thanks
Soooo happy to hear you say this 8)itscoezy said:P.S the interview was actually a blessing, because if we had of sent a bunch of other documents to proove our common law relationship that they didn't want, they would have taken anothe rmonth or so to request an interview, plus a few weeks notice for the interview... It would have added SO much time. I'm happy we had our interview when we did
Woohoo! Thanks for this. =)OhCanadiana said:Excellent advice! +1 for you bttmntl and a ;D that you are helping others now too.
Thanks, canadiangirl78!canadiangirl78 said:FedEx is awesome. We used them. They're super fast!

I assume it would be the Courier address at the bottom... but what do they mean by "no public drop offs"? As in they don't want sponsors showing up at their door?
Correct - they don't want you to drop it off yourself. Any courier will work with the address at the bottom, just add spousal to the box somewhere if possible, otherwise they will open it and route it accordingly.bttmntl said:Thanks, canadiangirl78!

Dont go crazy!! lol, I sent my SSP an PGR 3 weeks ago, remember this week they had 2 days off for Christmas and next week they'll get 1 day for new years, so basically this 2 weeks I'm not counting them cus everybody become lazy, sounds silly maybe, but true.meeshy said:Goodluck!! On another note, anyone got any advice on how to get your mind off the application! I am going absolutely mental here. Sent off the SSP, PGR and additional proof of common law 4 weeks ago. I know thats not really that long, but I also no that some people got their PPRs after 1 week. We may be getting an interview or may not but how does everyone handle all this waiting! There has been no updates on Ecas to put our minds at ease and we both want to be in Canada soon! We are going crazy!!!
For sure Sylvana! Where are you in Mexico right now? Its good to see someone in a similar time frame that I can compare with! When did you send your application? I did send an email already just because Ecas hasnt updated but yes, like you ive decided these 2 weeks are a write off haha Fingers crossed!Sylvana said:Dont go crazy!! lol, I sent my SSP an PGR 3 weeks ago, remember this week they had 2 days off for Christmas and next week they'll get 1 day for new years, so basically this 2 weeks I'm not counting them cus everybody become lazy, sounds silly maybe, but true.
If you have been waiting already 4 weeks, I'd wait 2 weeks more, I after 2 weeks they didn't contact you, don't hesitate to send an e-mail or something, but this is up to you, you could send an email right now but it's Friday and next week new years so I doubt they r gonna answer quick. Listen if I hear something about my PPR I'll let u know and u let me know too!!
I´m right there with you guys too. The last requested form was received by the embassy on Dec 13th, exactly 2 weeks from now and it´s also the only thing I can think about. I think there´s a couple of us waiting for the PPR now so hopefully we´ll all have news soon.meeshy said:For sure Sylvana! Where are you in Mexico right now?
